An important update on progress, hope and a reality check that impacts every community in KCMO . . . Here's a preview of one of the most important conversations this week . . .
The 2019 State of Black Kansas City
Four years ago, the Urban League of Greater Kansas City’s assessment of African-American well-being in the city was sobering. From health to social justice, key indicators trended downward. To what extent, if any, have they improved?
President and CEO Gwendolyn Grant leads a discussion of the Urban League’s 2019 State of Black Kansas City: Urban Education, Still Separate and Unequal. Its equality index identifies gaps between blacks and whites in education as well as health, social justice, economics, and civic engagement.
The event—co-presented by the Urban League of Greater Kansas City—features remarks by authors and other contributors to the report, which will be available to attendees.

Developing . . .
Of course there might be a lot of hate on this post but the info is valuable. Last time around there were stats put forward that are still relevant today and offer a look at how a lot of KC is being left behind while elected leaders focuses on development deals and tourist attractions.
ReplyDelete^^^^ that would be tragic if it wasn't black electeds leading the way pushing their developer friends and convention hotel junk.
DeleteKC has the best leadership money can buy.
DeleteGwen Grant is one of the most racist persons I've ever had the unfortunate opportunity to meet.
ReplyDeleteWelp, black Kansas City is murdering itself at the rate of about one every couple days, Gwen.
ReplyDeleteOnly a racist would call a black woman a racist.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is still waging war against its black citizens.
How much are the tickets?

ReplyDeleteWTF is this black Kansas City CRAP That is a RACIST STATEMENT. Blacks have just as much opportunity as whites or anyone else. Stop the crying and stop the woe is me I'm black I'm SICK of it or go back to Africa!
Bryon has already told the TKC community he has been a drug user and stoner since 1972 which explains his lack of coherence. Evidently his next step is to inform everyone he has the word "Mom" tattooed on his right bicep.
ReplyDeleteThe state of Today's blacks...blacks cannot be criticized...blacks have no accountability....blacks have no responsibility for their actions...blacks are owed what you have worked for.
ReplyDelete^^ Absolutely correct.
ReplyDeleteWell stated by 8:22.
ReplyDeleteRacist? Racist! Racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist.
ReplyDeleteRacist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist. Pacist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist racist, and racist.
Lol,
Racist
"From health to social justice, key indicators trended downward." Most likely, the downward trend was due to eating unhealthy food and shooting each other (health), and committing lots of crimes (social justice). Taking personal responsibility for one's own health and welfare would fix that.
ReplyDelete7:50, is that why you live in one of the whitest cities in America?
ReplyDeleteGwen Grant doesn't care about the state of Black people. What she cares about is being able to profit off of Black people in the name of Blackness. These types of liberals make me sick!
ReplyDeleteBlacks are enjoying shooting off guns within city limits more than any other race.
ReplyDeleteI love being called a racist because I am and that means I am intelligent enough to read scholarly unbiased articles based on science instead of feelings and I can perceive the world around me and learn from my own and experiences of others. If you claim not to be a racist you are either a liar, an imbecile or brainwashed.
