SILENCE AFTER JACKSON PROPERTY TAX CRISIS EMAIL EXPOSÉ!!! TKC TUESDAY QUESTION: WHY WON'T EXEC FRANK WHITE ANSWER QUESTIONS ON CAMERA?!?
Less than a year after officially winning office Jackson County Executive Frank White has all but retreated from any real questions about his decisions as an elected official.
His communication with the Legislature is minimal.
He won't talk with reporters directly.
And most of his public interaction is by way of pre-recorded videos on Jackson County social media outlets.
Accordingly . . .
THE LATEST REPORT ON JACKSON COUNTY CONFUSION AMID THE PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENT CRISIS DEMANDS AN ON CAMERA ANSWER FROM THE EXECUTIVE!!! SO FAR FRANK WHITE WON'T TALK TO VOTERS OR THE PUBLIC DIRECTLY!!!
For those who haven't seen it or need another look, this is the best example of journalism in Kansas City right now . . .
Emails obtained by KCTV5 provide reality check in Jackson County property tax assessment
And upon a second viewing this line stands out . . .
KCTV5 requested interviews with the McCann Beatty and County Executive Frank White. We received the following response:
“At this time, the County is focused on working with taxpayers and therefore, is not granting any interviews regarding this matter.”
Accordingly . . .
OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY DEMANDS JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE TALK WITH KCTV5 ABOUT THIS REPORT ON CAMERA!!! ANYTHING LESS IS A BETRAYAL OF HIS ELECTED DUTY!!!
Heh, doody. Lulz.
Anyhoo . . .
In this instance a sleepy public TV or newspaper interview against softball questions isn't going to cut it. TV news asked tougher questions than anybody in town and they deserve an answer.
At the very least we want to point out the "celebrity" politico now seems camera shy as he has struck out as an elected leader in the midst of the single-greatest-disproportionate-tax-increase in Kansas City history.
You decide . . .
