On Tuesday, Minority Floor Leader Crystal Quade said the threat of gun violence looms over every Missourian.
"Gun violence has claimed the lives of more than a dozen children in St. Louis and Kansas City this year," she said. "The problem is not confined to just urban areas. Just two weeks ago, a 15-year-old girl was fatally shot while sitting on her front porch in Cape Girardeau."
The Missouri House Democratic Caucus stressed Tuesday afternoon the importance of adding gun reform legislation to the special session agenda. Gov. Mike Parson called lawmakers into a special sessionto deal with a tax issue on auto sales. The special session began Monday.
