SHOCK!!! CLAY CHASTAIN QUESTIONS KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS ON DOWNTOWN STADIUM FLIP-FLOPPING, BACKING 'WHITEY' AND MORE!!!
Another politically incorrect screed sent our way offers a glimpse at local "real talk" as this town's most prolific activist challenges the street cred of the new mayor.
To wit . . .
CLAY CHASTAIN CONDEMNS KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS FOR OVERLOOKING TRANSIT NEEDS OF THE LOW-INCOME URBAN CORE!!!
We'll attempt to stay objective but here's what's really interesting for our political news junkies:
Mr. Chastain touts his experience working with local African-American voters over the rapid rise to power of Kansas City's youngest mayor in generations. If we look at this simply from a statistical voter engagement perspective . . . He's not completely out of line in making that argument even if he might be pressing it in some of his other remarks.
Here's the word . . .
Clay Chastain: Mayor Lucas, like Sly, does not appear to care about lower income black people.
Mayor James did little to help elevate lower income black people. You know supporting white privileged projects like... the new airport, streetcar, convention hotel, luxury condos, etc., while black on black violence soared. Now Mayor Lucas, another professional black mayor who too supported all of whitey's glitzy projects listed above when he was a city councilman, is not only supporting a new baseball stadium downtown, but also supports not letting the people vote on a transit-improving petition initiative!
Not only that, Mayor Lucas is supporting applying for federal funds to extend the streetcar that does zero to help poor black people with their transportation needs. It is mostly for white developers, white sightseers, white lunch goers and white partiers.
I would like Mayor Quinton Lucas to know that the transit-improving petition initiative he won't let the people vote on was signed primarily by lower income black people who want a better transit system to improve their lives.
I know because I helped circulate the petition and there were few older white males, like Clay Chastain, signing the petition.
Ironically, we have another well educated black mayor who apparently does not care about the poor black people in our community.
You decide . . .
