Port KC Schedules Toy Train Streetcar Building Boom Down By The River

This clandestine public-private special interest doesn't need approval of voters to power their big money moves.

Remember that on Aug. 4, 2017, Kansas City residents passed an ordinance, brought to the city through an initiative petition, that prohibits city officials from moving forward with any streetcar extension without first gaining citywide voter approval. That included any planning or preparation for construction.

Tragically, this group doesn't care enough about Democracy to stop their building plans and NOBODY has stepped up to stop them . . .

Port KC advances $225 million riverfront, streetcar, housing projects in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Some changes are coming to Kansas City's Historic Riverfront. Port KC has updated plans for a number of development projects near the River Market and Berkley Riverfront Park worth more than $225 million, including an option for affordable housing in the district.

  2. Sounds like it's just plans and they're acting like they already have approval but this would quickly be challenged in court

Never fear the new city manager will put a halt to this nonsense.

If he gives any indication that he would do that, then he won't be chosen.

You're forgetting who will be doing the hiring.

  7. It's Tom Waits, although Hot Rod Stewart did a mighty fine version of it.
