Opinion | One Job Is Better Than Two

Millions of Americans have full-time jobs that don't pay enough to make ends meet. So they have to work a second job, too. It's easy for most people to find a job in America on Labor Day 2019. The unemployment rate is very low; store windows are plastered with help wanted signs.

  3. All those regulations and taxes got to be paid for by somebody. The lowest rung on the ladder usually suffers the most. Most of the clowns running for president are promising to increase regulation and taxes. This format bode well for the bottom rung.

  4. How come she doesn't have a nice yacht. A new shiny BMW? A second home in the Hamptons?

    That girl is just lazy!

  5. Maybe one job would be adequate if:
Didn't smoke so much weed or do heroin.
Didn't have to have the newest phone.
Didn't eat every meal out at a bar or restaurant.
Didn't have to have a snazzy car.
Didn't have to have the nicest apartment.
Didn't have to have your hair braided.
Didn't have to have your mani/pedi every week.
Didn't have to take expensive vacations all the time.
Didn't have to go to every concert.
Didn't stop at Starbucks for coffee twice a day.
Didn't stop at QT for your afternoon Super-big gulp diet coke, and roller food.
Didn't smoke two packs of cigarettes a day or vape to be cool.
Didn't call in sick once a week and showed up on time the days you do go to work.
    Didn't drop out of school.
Didn't have to have the biggest gun in your gang.
    Want more?

  6. @ 942 you forgot one.

Didn't have to take a student loan that included paying for a car, an apartment or a lifestyle when you were in college majoring in a useless degree rather than one that would get you a serious job.

  7. 942. You put it very well. I’ve got my living expenses down to less than 800 a month for a family of three
It’s because I paid my mortgage fast. I don’t do car payments (drive an old junker) and save three grand a month
I’m proof you can live well on a small income if you think about what your future will look like

  14. MAGA! It’s such a terrific economy! Never mind the jobs leaving, epic murder rates continuing unabated, and epidemic of mass shootings, piping hot tariffs on the American consumer, an exploding deficit, the country still mired in a forever war, North Korea, Iran, India and Pakistan threatening real war, the country falling into a recession, and farmers finding no buyers for their crops. All in just three short years on the job! Trump is running this country like one of his businesses, straight into the ground!
