Lesson In Diversity: Coalition Against Mostly White Kansas City School Boards

Tonight's teachable moment targets the "executive" branch of public education and pushes for change, representation and greater access to thankless jobs. Read more:

Students In Kansas City Classrooms Are More Diverse, But School Boards Remain Mostly White

Across the metro, Kansas City schools are serving more students of color, especially Latinos, but that diversity isn't reflected on school boards. Without representation, students of color can feel like no one's looking out for their interests. Those tensions played out recently in Lee's Summit, where the all-white school board clashed with the district's first black superintendent over diversity training.

  2. ^^^ But aren't you arguing for the interests of your tribe? Weird. If it was the other way around, I doubt you'd stay quiet or stick around for long.

    1. Good question.

No, because I believe in representative government at all levels. Blacks and whites can and do represent each others' interests all the time. Quotas are poisonous.

It's clear this author has followed the tenor of our times and judged the situation on its most superficial characteristics and nothing more.

Only a white person would defend this.

But then, white people think they are better than everyone else, so they don't see this as racism, but merely the "best" people for the job.

This is in your face, & unacceptable.

  6. Byron you silly miserable Ruth fucker. Are you better then anybody else? Why do you defend this?

  9. Black educators get your resumes and race cards ready. A few of you will win an early retirement for a false out rage.

  10. A leftist liberal dicksucking queer like byron will always take a adversarial stance to what is good for society but what would you expect for a dicksucking pedo who’s still in trouble for baby rape. Good thing the only cure for a mentally ill fuck like him is execution. White kids should never be in the same school as niggers white people should never live around niggers send them all back

  11. Does anyone remember the blacks controlled the KCPS board in the 70's and 80's. Talk about rampant, in your face corruption.

  12. Solution: Blacks and Hispanics run for school board seats and win. You're welcome.

If mostly white school boards and largely black student populations were a problem, the KCMO school board would have agreed to lower its property tax levy.

  13. Lee's Summit school district learned all about the benefits of diversity

  14. Instead of having people run for the school board like it's a political office, have people submit resumes and appoint board members based on the ethnicity of the students. Make sure each ethnic group is represented and get rid of the fund-raising and running for office aspect.

  15. Black Liberation Theology at play here. From the left. Barack set this all up for that Fundamental Change you all voted for in '09'.
