KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Jwan Curry, 40, is accused of raising such a ruckus that the plane he was on had to make an emergency landing at KCI Thursday afternoon. He is charged with disturbing the peace with excessive noise and now he is sitting in the Platte County jail as the story unfolds around him.

Local sheriff's detectives capped four years of dogged investigation Wednesday when Detective Dan Finn stepped off a plane in Burbank Wednesday night with a drive-by shooting suspect on the run and wanted since 2015. A photo of Finn emerging from the plane with shooting suspect Kenneth Mitchell, however, posted on the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station social media says it all.

Jury finds KCK man guilty of murder

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -- A jury has convicted a KCK man of murder in connection with a shooting that happened in 2018. According to the Wyandotte County District Attorney's Office, 27-year-old Denis Alfaro was found guilty of one count of first-degree murder. No sentencing date has been set yet.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Missouri, Police Chief Rick Smith believes that the conversation regarding marijuana legalization has been largely one-sided. Smith posted a blog post Wednesday after a KCMO City Council committee paused a proposal to decriminalize possession of up to 100 grams of marijuana earlier this week.
