Illustration by Grant KratzerIt's not just your imagination. Kansas City is in the middle of a hotel boom. The number of hotels calling the metro area home is set to skyrocket by about 20 percent in a four year period, from 288 in January 2017 to 326 by the end of 2021.

  1. The existing hotels are not full... however, they will have fewer occupants as the "new" hotels come on line.. Growth for the sake of growth without logical thought never works.

  2. WHO IS STAYING IN THESE HOTELS!?!

At this point it just seems like some sort of CIA psy-op paying the bill because there aren't 20,000 rooms being rented downtown

  4. Tonys Readers Stated this several years ago And THE AIRPORT THREE RING CIRCUS AS WELL .Hotels will struggle. But Kansas City Missouri And Missouri as well have a better advantage then most City's and States .I will still visit other areas in the Country. But I will cut out purchases of Big ticket items.

  6. Who would come to KC and stay in a downtown hotel by choice? After you've toured all the bars, there is nothing to do. Unless you want to hire a car to take you to The Chiefs, The Royals, The Zoo, The Plaza, The 18th & Vine area, The airport where you can get on a plane and go home.
