RideKC shows off new eBus, coming in Summer 2020
The Kansas City Area Transit Authority will have two zero-emissions electric buses in its fleet in the summer of 2020. RideKC held a show-and-tell session on Tuesday to give people a look at the new vehicle, built by Gillig Corporation.
Oh wow now they are getting a couple electric buses to appease the electric bus advocates until Johnson and crew can figure out how to rip everyone off for the toy train extension if the federal taxpayer grant doesn't come through.

ReplyDeleteWhy is it taking a year to put these in service? This from the same people who if they buy a new car want it ready to go in one hour.
ReplyDeleteUnless they figured out how to run the buses on lightning bolts, the buses get their power primarily by burning fossil fuels to generate electricity. And it took lots of fossil fuel to build the buses, even though there was no immediate need for them.

ReplyDeleteThere is no less CO2 produced from running an electric bus. kcmo needs to buy power from windmills for this to be feasible. Have they done that yet. Putting the cart before the horse.
ReplyDeleteWindmills should be everywhere creating power for this area. If the wind isn't blowing that day the braindead politicians flapping their pie holes will create enough of a breeze to keep those turbines running.
ReplyDeleteIf only there was a constant source of water available in the area, Hydro Power might be a consideration, if only the water ran 24/7, or ran all year long, or something like that.
