Former Kansas City Royal Owner David Glass Really Wasn't That Great

Whilst a bevy of local politicos bowed to this guy, our blog community questioned his leadership and paid some well deserved disrespect to a guy who made about ONE BILLION DOLLARS by way of money ball luck and letting the team quickly fall back from first to worst.

Well, it is all but official. After nearly two decades as the owner of the Kansas City Royals, David Glass has sold the team to local businessman John Sherman for $1 billion. While the deal still needs MLB approval, Glass is set to make a tidy profit on his $96 million expenditure to purchase the team.

  1. He did save the team from folding or moving away and we did get a World Series out of the deal, I ain’t mad at him. I gave up on baseball a long time ago so I’m not kissing his ass because I really don’t care one way or another.

  2. when Wade Davis was traded I knew the Royals were no longer serious and would be content to rest on their World Series laurels.

  7. When Glass chose to keep Gordon over Hosmer, Moose, Cain, Zobrist and Davis, I knew our days of being a competitive team were well over. In the end Glass chose the wrong guy.
