TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY VIOLENCE SPIRALING OUT OF CONTROL: NOW WORSE THAN EVER?!?!

Back when Kansas City hit a homicide record in the early 90s there was a very simple explanation or at least a trend that was worth consideration . . .

In 1993, emboldened by sensationalized gangsta rap media hype, drug gangs from Cali mobilized their membership and sought to branch out. A lot of locals from KCMO didn't buy the pyramid scheme and so a deadly fight over territory and rep took place on local streets resulting in historic bloodshed.

And so the past is prologue . . .

This time around, there doesn't seem to be a single cause that's responsible for the homicide uptick but rather a perfect storm of circumstances which have contributed to the deadly local murder spike. A few examples: An even more profitable drug trade, the proliferation of illegal guns on American urban core streets and a weakened justice system seem to have created a perfect storm for the current historic rise in murder.

Moreover . . .

Even in recent remarks from the KCPD Chief on gun control, he emphasized the importance of punishment in his remarks. An insight that shouldn't be overlooked: "Regardless of the gun laws, of which there are currently many, they are ineffective without a certainty of punishment. Certainty of punishment is more important than severity in the prevention of gun violence."

And so this begs the question:

IS THE BREAKDOWN OF IMMIGRATION LAWS, MANDATORY MINIMUM DRUG SENTENCES AND HARD TIME FOR VIOLENT OFFENDERS THE BIGGEST CULPRIT IN THE RECENT KCMO HOMICIDE SPIKE?!?!

Put simply: Is there more crime because criminals know they're going to get away with it or escape with only a wrist slap???

All of this his leads us back to a discussion of policy, enforcement and politics that ultimately falls to voters who seem caught between hard-line, unforgiving and often ineffective tactics that power the so-called prison industrial complex OR the new, trendy "restorative justice" approach that seems laughably lightweight when confronting serious, callous criminals.

Meanwhile the level of local violence escalates on local streets and threatens to destroy all of the so-called "momentum" touted and funded by way of taxpayer subsidized development.

The latest local violence and worsening streets overnight . . .

Deadly KCMO Overnight
One person dead, two injured in two car crashes and shootings in Kansas City, Missouri
MORE MLK BLVD GUNFIRE!!!

One person shot, another ejected in shooting and crash in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - Police are investigating after a driver was shot, drove off and got into a rollover accident with another vehicle, ejecting the passenger in their vehicle. At about 11:48 p.m. on Friday night, police were called to 75th and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. on an accident.

  3. @12:00, Boulevard of Death is pretty straightforward and actually just another way of saying MLK Blvd so I think it should be changed again. At least KC won’t have to pay usage rights.

    Ok, wrong.

I can name that "single cause."

Can anybody else help Tony here?

What is the single cause of crime, violence and murders in our city?

    Anybody can answer.

    Help Tony out.

    He evidently needs it.

  9. More crime because of more illegal immigrants and criminals aren't afraid of punishment.

Love of hate Giuliani, he remade NYC into the city it is today by cracking down on crime. Even minor things were cracked down on. He kept the city from slipping into a Baltimore, Philadelphia, or st louis style metropolitan area. You really want money to come into kc make sure people aren't afraid of having their beautiful 25 year old daughter innocently gunned down at the city's premier event. So far the city's solution has been "lol who cares we'll be out in bigger numbers next month' bravo kc

    1. Good post ^^ 1:12! Rudy placed the increased resources of public safety personnel on stop & frisks, saturation patrols, and warrant sweeps like none other. He added staffing for proper maintenance and cleaning of public buildings, streets, sidewalks, subways, parks, and more. He put a big dent in the numbers of loitering, littering, and losing criminal types that cost the city of New York taxpayers' and tourists' TOO MUCH IN TOO MANY WAYS!!! Those public treasury resources robbing drunks, addicts, and bums who were pan-handling, pissing and shitting up the alleys, passing out and puking wherever they wanted...found themselves hauled off and dealt effective deterrents. Most of them accessed assistance programs to avoid highest fines and longer stays in the pokeys. Rudy's New York was CLEANING HOUSE!!! Buh bye, CRIMMIES and CRAPPIES!!!

Yes in a nutshell that's the issue. The liberals all scream jail time isn't a deterrent and that's because jail time is a cakewalk with those convicted of crimes appearing to have more civil rights than a law abiding person does.

If chain gang workers and rock busting returned as part of serving jail time you'd see a drop in crime. America has lots of ditches and road side that need cleaned up and weeded.

Time to treat criminal as true criminals.

  13. Super Dave is absolutely right. Jail and prison should be something people fear and dread, not some second-rate Howard Johnson’s where you hang out until Auntie Jean gives you parole for your latest felony.

  14. Sad that the progressive’s have created this mess because they needed votes but yet can’t for the life of them figure out how to put an end to the madness, their only response is whitey is to blame, does that mean white progressives only or is it all white peoples fault because you know, we made them kill kill kill.

A society with mass murder is experiencing a moral problem.

America’s moral problem is more complex than that of Nazi Germany or its Communist counterparts. We don’t have a government that is actively killing people. Instead we have a government that has made it easy for killers to operate by dismantling the criminal justice and immigration systems, making it very difficult to stop the three primary categories of killers, gang members, terrorists and the insane.

When criminals aren’t locked up, then everyone ends up in jail.

When we fail to lock up criminals, society becomes a prison. When we don’t institutionalize the insane, then society becomes the insane asylum. When we don’t stop foreign gangs and terrorists from entering our country, then we wake up to realize that we are living in El Salvador, Mexico, Pakistan or Iraq.

A moral society locks up dangerous people while a progressive society locks up everyone.

Just look at the data and the facts.
And who commits the vast majority of violence and murders.
