TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY RACIAL DIVISIONS EMERGE AMID MOURNING FOR ERIN LANGHOFER!!!

Last week Erin Langhofer was shot dead during Kansas City First Friday festivities as a gunman fired into a crowd during a massive Crossroads brawl.

The aftermath of the tragic killing has inspired an outpouring of sympathy and a call to action from activists, police and elected officials. However, mostly unmentioned in local media is allegations of unfairness from leaders within the KCMO African-American community over the disparity in coverage and municipal action when it comes of the murder count within the Black community.

Rather than get hung up about personalities and people, let's talk about ideas. Close news watchers know where I'm pulling these quotes from . . .

Recently, a prominent African-American journalist challenged his colleagues in the media:

"It seems like the sentiment is: 'It's a white woman from Johnson County that was killed so, hey, let's respond!' But, there were no other press conferences for the Black people who have been killed this year. The Chief is getting a free pass . . . He comes out and gives a speech saying: "It's a geographical issue. My translation: People in the Black community accept this so that's their problem but now that's it's West of Troost there's a totally different conversation. Even at the Prosecutor's office . . . I've never seen the Prosecutor send out charging documents with the victim's picture on it. And that has racial undertones.

"So I believe in the Black community it's like: Okay, all these Black people got killed and you didn't say anything. A white woman from Johnson County was killed and NOW we have to come up with solutions. The optics are bad."

A KCMO activist with an even greater social media following earned a great deal of agreement and reaction with this social media statement:

"A Black woman killed @ a city park and no one gives a f*ck. A White woman killed @ a city event and everyone gives a f*ck. Shouldn’t City parks be as safe as a city event??? I didn’t watch the news today because I’m tired of seeing Quinton Lucas stick his head up the a$$ of a slain white chick for political points."

And so . . .

UNDER THE RADAR WE NOTICE RESENTMENT FROM KANSAS CITY'S AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY OVER THE ATTENTION GIVEN TO THE KILLING OF ERIN LANGHOFER VS. THE RISING COUNT OF INNER-CITY HOMICIDES!!!

In terms of airtime and the number of published words, there is no disputing the claims regarding disparity even if there might be justification of headline priorities. Nevertheless, what's also indisputable is the rising division and animosity throughout the Kansas City metro as the rate of violence and killing continues to rise.

Developing . . .

yes, there is a disparity and it's wrong but reporting isn't racist, it's just a reflection of the racism that already exists.

    1. The complaints have a point but the truth is just to sad and cruel to admit or share publicly. There are so many urban core homicides that it's just hard for people to keep count grieve with the victim's families.

But isn't that the point. If was paid attention to each homicide with the same intensity and the same determination to make changes, maybe that would inspire people to do more.

It may be politically incorrect to say it but it still applies here: All Lives Matter!

  2. You'd think that this would be a chance for people to come together and talk about stopping the violence for everyone but NO. It's just another opportunity to fight and say horrible things about one another. And people wonder why the current President got elected. He's just doing and saying the stuff that most people think .

  3. It's also the snitches get stitches Theory, how many Urban Core murders have been reported that there were a number of witnesses. But yet no information comes forth about the Killer. It appears from the outside looking in that the urban murders could be solved with more Community Action. Yet no one comes forth even with an increase in reward money. Why should any citizen be concerned about murders where the own Community appears not to give a shit about the victim. We see marches we see rallies we see balloon releases what we don't see is someone going to the authorities and giving up the information required to get the killer off the streets. And until this improves or try to resolve itself nobody's going to care when you don't care.

  4. ^^^ Agree 100% - the reality is that "BLACK LIVES MATTER", except to other Blacks!

In the Black Community, a Black murder becomes simply an excuse to call out a Church's "Rent-A-Mob" to hold yet another "vigil" that somehow includes a payment of City Tax Money.

  5. Listen up black 'community'. When you start acting like you give a shit so will we.

Just like our urban friends to take this tragedy and say "Where mines be at doe?"

  6. Oh, with black on black killing...maybe some vigils...some MIC/NOVA/babymama, etc., quips to the newsies.

    When a non-black, especially popo, shoots a black suspect...the FERGUSON-esque FUBAR abounds...burn...loot...beatdown...shoot.

When blacks kill whites, then whitey ought to riot and rip up their own hoods, huh?

  7. Those who contiue to blame it on ‘white privilege’ along with their MSN enablers and ultra liberal, pandering politicians are the root problem. I find it kind of amazing that Liz Warren, Kamala Harris, and Beto claimed that Mike Brown was ‘murdered’ in their recent tweets. These people need to seriously start looking inwardly at their culture and stop blaming everyone else, but they can’t. As long as you have children getting their inspiration from violent rap and ‘artists’ like Tech-9, the culture is going to continually degrade and the killings will continue. Why moron democrats like Sly James and others can’t understand this is beyond me.

  8. Almost 90 murders committed by black people and the reporting of one white woman who got killed by a black is pissing them off? They’re not mad or willing to stop these murders but by god if the news reports it they’re pissed. The entire black community should be embarrassed. What the fuck is wrong with these people? It is their problem and they accept it as a common occurrence, just because white people dont it’s racist. It’s sickening

  9. 12:45 the moron demoncraps created this mess by not sending criminals and murderous thugs to fucking prison so......

  10. When blacks stop killing so many other blacks...because that IS who is committing the vast majority of the murder...and when they stop hiding the killers, THEN we will pay attention.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The reason we mourn this poor girl, urban vibrant scholars, is that in our community murder isn't a daily occurrence as it is in yours. Your pathetic 'culture' is basically a cargo cult that worships sneakers, rape, and death. Gnomesayn?

One vigil is just like the next. People can be horrble no matter their color. All of us are headed to the same hole in the ground if we ain't saved and dont learn how to love one another.

There have been so many failed feel good organizations that were supposed to generate solutions to the crime problem in the urban core and they failed. Basically all they were after was the funds. It is way past time the urban community starts stepping up to the plate and start helping themselves by telling investigators what they know as opposed to "I didn see nutin."

Where has leadership of Clever Carwash been for last 30 years as Mayor and US Rep? Great speeches and letters. No action.
Where was Sly for 8 years?
The media loves them and there has been no accountability for Killa City crime.
The Star especially shares responsibility for so many tragic deaths.

  15. I was at the dentist the other day and an 85yr old black women was bragging about how she had to beat down her 30yr old great grand daughter, she whooped her and told her that she needed to go “kill that bitch” that stole her baby daddy, she was worthless to her if she didn’t. I kid you not.

  18. Here”s the deal. There has been millions of dollars and 100’s of vigils to stop black violence. You are see a community say they will not accept this, Johnson county “very few murders”. Vs. the black community which accepts and promotes violent behavior, ever listen to a rap song. Plenty of attention as been paid to the black problem, the blacks just don’t want to stop it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Fuck you negros. They pull the same 1991 arguments; you have a violence problem.

  21. Ok I’ll play let look at the different life story headlines,

Tyrone made a life time of bad decisions and lived a life of drugs and violence was tragically murdered last night.

    Or

Young women worked in the community to help victims of violence recover and their lives, tragically killed be Tyrone’s brother last night.

Don’t act like they are the same. Before you say there are no options. The current and last mayor are both from the hood and made it out. There are options but many blacks choose not to pursue them, see Tyrone’s headline above.

  22. After the entire last week's "newscasts" consisted of stories about the tenth anniversary of the death of that "hero" Michael Brown, this complaining about the lack of media coverage is a real joke.
Brown has a plaque in the ground in Ferguson and the coverage consisted of interviews with his "grieving" parents, mostly about yet another lawsuit they plan to file to see if they can shake someone else down for another round of bucks.
And NOT A WORD about what really happened that day and as was reported in the FBI report by the Justice Department that was overseen by AG Erich Holder in the Obama Administration.
    Willful ignorance and outright lies.
The black community needs to worry a whole lot less about media coverage and PR and find some leadership that will encourage cooperation with the police and some responsibility for safety in their own neighborhoods.
    Charity begins a home.

The sooner we move away from this griping culture the better off we are KC used to be known for abrasion disrespect toward Authority and doing things your own way. Now it seems like the biggest crybaby is the winner. That has to change and now.

  32. What happened to her was just awful and makes me sick that she had a life full of everything good, and because black people can't walk away or solve an argument she had to die. What is wrong with black people? You people are so violent that you would shoot into a crowd of people over an argument? Give this girl all the attention she can get because she gave her life over someone who is so stupid they would shoot into a crowd of people. Why don't you blacks stay away and let these kids have fun without you killing and ruining everything.
Erin rest in peace beautiful girl. Prayers going up for the family.

  33. No matter how you slice it, blacks bring very little to the table. From the time they are born (typically out of wedlock and illegitimate) to the time they die (often violently at the hand of other blacks), they’re little more that a parasite on society. Living on public assistance and handouts, rarely completing a free education, more likely than not earning a criminal record, producing far too many offspring to perpetuate the cycle ...... it’s this careless sort of existence that makes it hard for anyone to see much value in their life. Compare this to the young lady in question who came from a working family, obtained an education, was not a teen pregnancy case, had no criminal record and devoted her career to helping victims of domestic violence. It’s pretty easy to do the math on which loss society would consider greater.

  37. One non-fiction book written about 10 yrs ago had a black man hanging out at a mostly white function stating that " black folks can't get together for anything without it turning bad". Sadly , this has become very evident. With the same revolutionary rhetoric put forth by their leaders that excuses their violence as "politically justified" this has become a behavior that is now no longer condemned, but expected. White folks of this age have seen through this crap since Rodney King and the riots of 92. What befuddled and frustrates decent folk is what is going on with the media that seems to not only excuse them but support their wickedness. ???

    ReplyDelete
  38. Turning to Jesus is a great concept for people who are civilized however your dealing with savages who will never conform to a civilized society. The biggest problem is confining them to exclusively just killing each other. Remember the prophetic words of Thomas Jefferson ‘I shutter to think of what would happen if they were turned loose among us’ boy was he right

  42. How much press coverage have Jonathan Porter and Jeffery McDonald got? Not shit, that's what. If you don't remember them they were two white guys murdered in KC in unsolved black-on-white hate crimes. Them, Harry Stone, and this woman deserve maximum coverage because white people do care about crime and want murders solved whereas black people obviously don't. I bet most murders in the hood have at least 10 people who know who did it but remain unsolved. Murder by blacks is so commonplace you cannot say that it is a concern to a large percentage of them. They commit it and they cover it up.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Dear black people,

White people don't want black people to die any more than we want white people to die. But what can we do about the high number of black deaths? You're killing each other. Just stop.

    Sincerely,

    A concerned citizen
