TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE NEARLY FINISHED?!?!

With military helicopters and drones swirling over Kansas City, the local political rumor mill is once again circulating at full speed.

Inquiring minds among our blog community ask . . .

WILL JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE FINISH HIS TERM?!?!

We've been following this story for quite some time but for tonight, here's a glimpse at a few of the ongoing controversies surrounding an exceptionally embattled local politico who remains that the center of a firestorm . . .

- Once again there's persistent talk of another Fed crackdown at the courthouse and the consequences could go all the way to the top. We remind our blog community that the Feds move SLOWLY and on their own time frame but the tell-tale signs of Federal involvement are becoming clearer for those of us who have been around the courthouse for more than a minute.

- Bad polling numbers hit Exec Frank White HARD. He has always operated under the assumption that that voters love him as much as they did during his playing days. That's no longer the case and this is the FIRST time the leader of the Courthouse has come to terms with his UNPOPULARITY.

- Freedom, Inc is SHOUTING DOWN ANY CRITICISM OF FRANK WHITE. And they're playing tough. Urban core politicos are desperate to put down any East side opposition to one of their top ranking leaders and they won't tolerate talk about his inevitable downfall.

To be fair, the Exec seems to be quickly waking up to the fact now skating on thin ice during the hottest part of the Summer. Recent blasts to the press have shown us a bit of a shift in his rhetoric as Team Frank is now working harder to answer back to critics and clean up his political image . . . This may or may not be too little and too late.

    1. True. There really should be Vegas odds on the guy's career fate. TKC couldn't do it but you could link us to a vegas bookie or give a phone number.

It's a push if he makes to his next election but that's a long-shot at best. He has been toast for about a month now and it doesn't matter how loud Freedom, Inc screams at people. Frank made a mistake by taking Mike's job. He should have just stayed on the legislature for the rest of his career and made a much easier time of it. Now he inherited all of the old baggage from Rock Island to the jail. It's way too much for a guy who has never held elected office to handle.

Too bad, he was in over his head before he took the job and now it's just getting worse.

  2. The Royals would be better off resigning him at 2nd base.

  4. White certainly won't resign.
He needs the money and he's in a place to continue to do favors for friends and supporters to try to create a place to land next.
Besides, Jackson County voters elect incompetent "politicos" all the time, so I wouldn't just write off his chances for re-election.
Both JaCo and KCMO "governments" are train wrecks of financial mismanagement, incompetence, insider dealing, upside-down priorities, and even a complete lack of common sense.
    Frank actually fits right in.
Maybe Jackson County needs to call in the state and the feds, just like the city did.

  5. Well then the eastside Negros and lefties need to not have their tax appeals looked at and they need to pay up. They praise Frank White and then bitch about what he is doing. Make sense??? Only to the eastside who have no brains.

  6. So you have a guy whose resume consists of "Played baseball professionally."

And you wonder why he can't manage a billion dollar county with thousands of employees working to serve some half million residents?

    Have some sense people.

  7. Frank, when you leave take Forte with you.

  8. 7:58, Jack Kemp's resume was "played football professionally." But he did very well in national politics. There are other examples, but you get the picture. It's the person, not the background, that dictates success or failure outside sports.

    1. the fact that you're a professional football player tells me that you're more likely to fail than be successful. The NFL is littered with rags to riches to rags stories.

  9. Frank has never played nice. He has always bitten the hand that feeds him. The Royals, the network. It’s never his fault. Now that hand is going to slap him down.
