The Kansas City New Mayor Ruckus

We're now in a new era of local politics but this town's GOLD STANDARD of political discourse endures.

Here's a quick guide to the latest episode or our early birds and insomniacs . . .

"Mike Shanin talks to Kansas City Star editorial writer Michael Ryan about bringing a more conservative perspective to the editorial board. Jamekia Kendrix, Woody Cozad, Lisa Johnston and Alana Roethle discuss whether Democrats have a chance in the U.S. Senate race in Kansas without Kathleen Sebelius, advice for Quinton Lucas as KC's new mayor & the likelihood of impeachment proceedings for Trump."

  1. Michael Ryan's editorials have been pretty good. He's not really conservative in his views, but compared to the rest of the editorial board he's somewhere to the right of Pat Buchanan.

It's like The Star suddenly realized that maybe the loss of over 100,000 Sunday subscribers (in about five years) points to a less than sustainable business model. What sort of genius fails to understand that ostracizing 50% of your audience is a bad idea?

A bit desperate . . . and a lot too little too late.

  2. This show was a bit dry. I like it when the panelists at least try to mix it up a bit.

  4. FLUID DISCUSSION

At the final 2020 Presidential debate, incumbent Trump and challenger Kamala Harris were invited to draw straws to determine the order of closing remarks.

After Harris came up short, she blamed it on a vast "White-wing" conspiracy and institutional racism which keeps African-Americans disadvantaged.

President Trump pointed out that Harris is not an African-American, her ancestors owned slaves, and she's married to a White Jewish attorney.

Her reply? Trump is a Russia-loving Nazi!

    Trump re-elected in a landslide.

  6. Shanin sort of let his inner "Joe McCarthy" out this week, didn't he?

  7. Jamekia is a mindless twitette that hasn't missed many meals.
