Newsflash: Skimpy Sunday Kansas City Star Finally Notices Local Homicide Spike

Today's Sunday issue was little more than a pamphlet and some less than useful advertorials . . . Meanwhile, the current spate of violence is actually THE THIRD TIME KCMO KILLINGS have outpaced last year's count . . . Here's establishment media perspective:

Six people killed in a week in Kansas City; homicides on pace to top 2018

Four people were killed in as many days, and six in the span of a week, in Kansas City, where homicides this year are on track to top 2018. Included were the deaths of Erin Langhofer at First Fridays and John Noel Jr. at 55th Street and Agnes Avenue.

  1. The Star is trash, but meanwhile a KCP&L senior executive is outwardly promoting right-wing religious insanity an no one says anything because they write very large political checks and checks to do-nothing Joe Reardon and the Chamber of Commerce.

  2. Now that sLIE isn’t paying them to write fairy tale stories about how killa shitty is the greatest and keeping all the bad stuff like the murderous black problem maybe, just maybe they will start telling the truth. But don’t hold your breathe.

  4. Glad I moved to Denver where the biggest problem is affording rent. Oh wait, it's not cheap in KC anymore either? And I can get some of Willie's Reserve down at the corner store? Glad I moved to Denver.

  5. As usual, the Star danced all around the actual cause of the majojrity of the homicides in KCMO, including the recent tragedy in the Crossroads.
And, of course, they had to mention "gun legislation".
But what gun legislation would have prevented what just happened?
Or the other dozens of murders in KCMO so far this year?
Character, values, respect for yourself and others, valuing education, having a job and supporting yourself, personal responsibility, civil behavior....
None of those personal characteristics can be "legislated" by anyone.
They all begin at home and require some self-control and hard work.
The thugs like the person who committed this senseless act need to be taken off the streets and removed from society.
And the people who should be leading the way should be the people who live in the neighborhoods where the great majority of the crime, violence, and homicides take place.
Become a part of the solution to your own problem.

  6. They have special taxing districts. Why not districts that allow more liberal private enforcement regs if the businesses agree. Violent offenders sequestered in a private space and fed buckwheats, so to speak. Busted kidneys, ruptured spleens, turn over to police for processing. Over a relative short period of time, behavior will change.

  7. TOP PHOTO -- QUID PRO QUO

Now that he's Mayor of KCMO, Lucas confesses that he WAS driving while intoxicated in Lawrence KS. He was immediately pardoned because he's a liberal black Democrat, and given round-the-clock police protection in exchange for not reining in the public safety budget!!!

    same as it ever was

  9. K.C. has been really dangerous for the average citizen just trying to be left alone, and have fun and make it since the mid 80's
! Condolences to all the families who have suffered. Respectfully and sincerely!
