A cowtown crisis of conscience and a recent question to Kansas City Public Television i.e. the temple of progressive moral relativism . . .
“How do the religiously devout reconcile their faith with those who promote or support hate, derision or oppression in the name of religion?”
A couple of videos claim to have the answers . . .
In downtown Kansas City, Missouri, the search for a church that truly welcomes gays.
Another hot take:
Adam Hamilton, pastor at Church of the Resurrection, in the Kansas City area, discusses the evolution of his views in accepting members of the LGBTQ community into his faith. It was clear to him when he founded the church that gay and lesbian people were not going to be second-class citizens in his church or forced to stay in the closet.
You decide . . .
I would imagine Jesus to be pro life. So of course he wouldn't give the time of day to a Demoncrat.
ReplyDeleteA religion where everyone does what is right in their own eyes and makes themselves god. Any god but one that has commandments.
ReplyDeleteJesus was a "Zealot" in the traditional and circa 30AD meaning of the word. A revolutionary fighter against the Roman invasion, he was politically descended from the Maccabees. He thought the Quisling Pharisees who cooperated with the invaders were race traitors and he proved it.
ReplyDeleteOn the weekend he died, after preaching revolution, he started what essentially was a bar fight in the temple and was crucified a hero of the Jews a few days later.
He was first and foremost, a NATIONALIST.
You're fuckin right he would have voted for Trump.
So Jesus Embraced White Power too, Rev. Lowe?
Delete^^^^ You're mixing politics with religion Chuck. Thinking of Jesus as a "nationalist" is revisionist at best. It's the same kind of spin that regards him as an illegal immigrant. But I think you might be on to something. Jesus also hung out with whores just like President Trump.
ReplyDelete^^^ and billy and jfk and......

There are many, MANY articles books etc on the politics of Jesus and his Nationalist view, that the Jews were the rightful inhabitants of his land.
Even in the traditional Bible that we all read during our formative years, it leaks out (The "Bible" as we know it, was approved at the Council of Nicea by Constantine The Great and the other writings, the other "Bibles" the "Apocrypha" cast aside at his direction.).
"Render unto Caesar..."
It was political as hell and the Apostles, especially Simon and Jesus were rebels against the innate brutality of the Roman Imperium.
Again, the guy started a fuckin bar fight in the Temple during a time when the Roman rulers were shittin bricks about riots and trouble in Judea.
It isn't even close to "Revisionist" history, it is fact.
He was a "Nationalist" is the strictest, most essential meaning of the word.
He hated the Romans and he hated the race traitor Jews who colluded with them.
I gotta go to work, but, one more thing.
ReplyDeleteMuch of the history of Jesus' life is now available from the Nag Hamdi scrolls and other historical writings now available. I am not sure, that Mary Magdalene was a "whore". It could be, that Jesus was married and she was his wife.
Why would that be so crazy?
It's the best selling work of fiction ever created, has great advice for how to treat your slaves and what you can do to beat your wife ethically. Lots of common sense advice on how people should be killed for going out of their house on Sunday. Glad to see it be the foundation for the Christian right. It's such a inspiring book full of optimism and positivity.
ReplyDeleteAnd Chuck didn't even mention that Jesus left a trail of destroyed Small Business Owners and Employees after him with his "strip out the cash, declare bankruptcy and walk away" Con Games, that Jesus paid for at least four Abortions, or that Jesus bragged publicly about committing Adultery while married to each of his three wives.
ReplyDelete^^^ Oh wait! I'm wrong!
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't Jesus, that was some other god that Chuck worships!
CHUCK?
ReplyDeleteWORK?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!
Chuck, your conception of Jesus and his hatred is wrong and it's wrong of you to spread that message.
ReplyDeleteI don't claim to know the bible well but these versus say a lot more than your interpretation or web links:
1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
John 15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
1 Corinthians 13:13: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
It's up to everyone to decide for themselves. I can only hope that Jesus was above politics.
Chuck @ 7:00 Jesus was also referred to as a teacher, or "Rabbi".
ReplyDeleteAccording to custom until recent times, on order to be considered that way he would have had to either be married or a widower.
Jesus clearly didn’t like homosexuals and negroes were still primates in Africa and not a drain on mankind, yet.
ReplyDelete^^^^^Thanks for sharing. Now go fix that rust hole in your trailer before it rains again.
ReplyDeleteLets shift the discussion from knee-jerk feel good Religion for Dummies to something more rational. What would Aristotle do? Would Hume agree?
ReplyDeleteWhat would Thor do?
ReplyDeleteOh, wait, that's another fairy-tale.
Valid message @7:18, but you screwed it up with the last reference.
ReplyDelete"Corinthians" was written by Paul, a Hellenized Roman Jew who never met Jesus, and who hijacked the Church that Jesus founded from Peter's leadership, and then sent Peter off to Rome to be killed.
His (and his friend Luke's) writings have nothing to do with Christianity.
Dear Brothers: Love one another.
ReplyDeleteWhy are articles like this even published? It's just non-religious people trying to shame those people of faith into changing their political beliefs. These people make fun of christians any chance they can and then try to use religious people's faith against them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not religious but a lot of my friends are and you can tell whoever wrote this has never spent time with faithful people because it's pretty obvious that they would never subscribe to the liberal dogma
6:57, "Chuck" you reference a book by an anti Christian Mooslim for info on the life of Jesus? Don't be such a tool of the atheist fools.
ReplyDelete@11:08, at least Chuck can spell.
ReplyDelete^^Chuck can also suck cock. What's your point?
ReplyDeleteJesus was not a nationalist. Chuck is a nationalist. The two historical references to Jesus are suspected of being frauds. He may never have existed.
ReplyDeleteWho would Jesus have voted for is just an ignorant question.
Mohammed was a child molester, he married a child. Committed murder and was a drunk.
ReplyDeleteIf Jesus came back today and saw the hatred and lies that people like Chuck spewed in Christ name, Jesus would never stop throwing up. Chuck makes me sick too.
ReplyDeleteHence forward, he shall be known as Up-Chuck.
The argument assumes that Jesus would be a US Citizen. Not too sure about that over here.
