KANSAS CITY LEADERS DEMAND GUN REGULATION CRACKDOWN AMID HOMICIDE SURGE!!! DEATH OF 2ND AMENDMENT?!?

Once again, the urge to sacrifice essential liberty in order to obtain a little temporary safety, or at least the illusion of it, has moved to the forefront of the civic agenda.

Tonight's example . . .

SAFE KC: Calls for gun regulations after KCMO's latest homicides

Money line from a prominent metro faith leader:

Pastor Adam Hamilton from the United Church of the Resurrection also supports more strict gun regulations . . . After the death of 25-year-old Erin Langhofer, who attended his church.

"There should be a basic training class if you're going to have conceal carry, how in the world can you get people the right to carry guns around with them in public that can kill innocent people without having a training class before they do that?" Hamilton said.

And so we offer a Sunday night contemplation and this preview of a 2020 election fighting already underway with real world bloodshed and fear ruling mass media  . . .

AMID A NATIONAL SPIKE IN MASS SHOOTINGS & THE KCMO 2019 HOMICIDE SPIKE: IS A GUN CRACKDOWN INEVITABLE AND ARE WE WITNESSING THE DEATH OF THE 2ND AMENDMENT?!?!? MOREOVER, WILL IT WORK TO STOP THE KILLING???

You decide . . .

  1. Johnson County preacher wants to take KCMO guns. Sounds about right. Rights for some but not all, that's the Kansas Republican way of life.

  4. Concealed carry in MO is only allowed if 21. So, the murderer was already violating gun laws. How much more illegal do you want to make it? Bigger question: how was he raised? Is he a product of our fabulous public schools and welfare state families?

    1. I believe it’s 19 tell me if I’m wrong

    2. You're wrong. You can drive with 18 and conceal carry, but to go in public, you have to be 21.

      Delete
    3. I'm wrong. It is 19 now. So Deonte was still violating gun laws.

      Delete
  5. I’m sure if the shooter would have had a gun safety class, this would not have happen.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yeah, Pastor. The problem was the thug didn't have any training.

    That's Byron level stupidity.

    ReplyDelete
  7. There are folks who hate guns and will exploit any tragedy as an opportunity to promote their own personal anti-gun agenda.

There are tangible things that could be done to address the violent culture that results in urban core violence, but we've created the ability for moderately wealthy (white) folks to segregate themselves and so they horde all the public resources for their boutique infrastructure while urban core communities that need wrap around services for their families go without.

    ReplyDelete
  8. When will people learn (I know Byron won’t) that guns are inanimate objects that require a human to operate them. And some will use them illegally for immoral and criminal means. And some won’t. And when people behave criminally we punish them (except in Jackson County, thanks, Jean!). If you run over someone your car is a weapon. You stab someone, it’s a knife. Beat someone, your fists are the weapon. The difference with guns is there is a Second Amendment. Be careful how you screw with it. Don’t punish law-abiding folks with stupid restrictions that hood rats, gang bangers, and murderers aren’t going to follow.

    ReplyDelete
  9. No law on the books will to stop the thugs from taking another's life or property.

We have common sense laws now that are not stopping this destruction of life in the urban community.

    ReplyDelete
  10. "There should be a basic training class if you're going to have conceal carry...." Such bullshit. Let him identify any mass shooting where the problem was not enough training for CCW. If there is a loony with a gun intent on killing a lot of people, I'd want him untrained as possible...for instance not a clue how to reload.

It's hard to believe that thousands of people look up to this guy, if that statement is a fair sample of his beliefs.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Rev. Hamilton do you honestly believe Deon'te Copkney legally obtained the handgun he used to kill Erin? Do you believe he considered obtaining a concealed carry permit? Not likely! Training? Oh get real, he was reacting and it was from his learned environment in his home and community.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yes, training thugs in gun safety will sure fix this! We waited all these years for a smart guy like this to figure it out. The Second Amendment is not dead. Millions of us will refuse to surrender our constitutional rights. Stand back and watch. You think you have problems now.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It was 21 but now it’s 19 for a CCW

    ReplyDelete
  14. Why not try a special KCPD Task Force, hopefully with cooperation and coordination with the local FBI office, that will track the source of guns used in crimes?

Use existing Gun Laws to close out some of the "Kitchen Table" Gun Dealers supplying arms illegally, drop some of them in jail for a few years, and see if that will help. I know a few honest Gun Dealer, and I believe this effort would have their full support and cooperation, and see no reason why Law Enforcement in the surrounding area should not want to participate as well.

In the instance of "stolen" weapons, pass a local ordinance making it a crime not to report a firearms theft , and lobby for State and Federal passage of similar laws. This eliminates those individuals who have fifteen or twenty pistols "stolen" from them every year.

    ReplyDelete
  15. While we are at it why don’t we add cocksucker training as well. Your a proponent of cocksuckers with no training.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh to be able to live in your Johnson county perfect bubble, how about you come to the inner city and teach morality. That is the training that is sorely misssing.

    ReplyDelete
  17. THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SHOOTING AND KILLING PEOPLE DO NOT FOLLOW THE LAW

how many times can this point be driven home. You CANNOT legislate this problem and make it go away. Do you think the 18 year old who was illegally carrying a pistol would have benefitted from a class on gun safety. Seriously, he probably held the pistol sideways as he ran off like a coward shooting into the crowd. You can't make a law to fix that type of behavior

if people are actually serious about stopping the gun violence, then go after the ammo. You can't go after guns, that ship has sailed, there are too many in circulation already. However, if you go after all the ammo supply then eventually those guns will be useless

Stop pushing legislature towards people who already follow the requirements. I guess both KS and MO have no permit CCW now so maybe that's what they are referring to but still, criminals are not going to give a fuck (hint, they already don't).

    Take away the ammo supply

    ReplyDelete
  18. Take away ammo? Oh, Please, the thugs will find it and use it to continue the destruction of life in the urban core.

How about the police determining the "source" of the illegally guns used in these crimes? They have the evidence they gathered at the crime scene and can determine the guns used and where these guns were obtained. Most likely illegally.

How about the Mothers and adults in the community DEMAND their loved ones not participate in illegal activities? Or better yet, turn in the guns!! Yes, take the guns that are in their homes and turn them over to the police.

It's time KC looked outside "the box" for answers to this destruction of lives in Kansas City.

  19. Idiot^^^ How is that going to happen.

  20. The pastor utterly failed with a member of his congregation. Yeah, his job would be easier if we had no free will and we were all 10th century serfs. Instead of more gun control, his bishop should have him defrocked.

  21. "There should be a basic training class if you're going to have conceal carry, how in the world can you get people the right to carry guns around with them in public that can kill innocent people without having a training class before they do that?" Hamilton said.

If this is an accurate quote, it belies the complete ignorance of the person speaking on this shooting.

I for one, am not surprised, as this is the same Liberal Democrat homosexual minister who praised President Obama.

This guy is clueless. Apparently, he doesn't have an inkling that there are certain people who refuse to follow laws. You can mandate training classes or whatever else you want, and it will simply place a burden on law-abiding people. Meanwhile, I'm sure Hamilton preaches from the tenets of the Liberal Democratic Party (pro-Big Government, pro-abortion, pro-illegal immigration, pro-gay marriage, soft on crime, climate change taxes, etc.)

People who don't own guns have never shot & killed anyone.

The Second Amendment was supposed to be about the English Common Law notion of self-defense, but that isn't what is happening. Statistically, the most common use for guns is to commit suicide, second is accidental shooting of self or family member, third is your gun used against you by an assailant. Guns are almost never used for self-defense. That is the dangerous myth of the Second Amendment.

Furthermore guns will not protect you from government tyranny a completely nonsensical notion), nor do they make you more patriotic (Gun ownership makes you a dangerous person & I don't think dangerous people are particularly patriotic, in fact, the opposite.) Guns will not make you a man (that is the myth behind these young men owning a gun when poverty keeps them from owning almost anything else.)

Guns are dangerous weapons, & it's insane to have more dangerous weapons than people in our country.

The Second Amendment is an antique whose time has passed. It should be repealed.

  23. Making certain (or all) guns illegal is such a dumb argument. Meth is illegal...how do so many people get their hands on it? Anyone with enough criminal intent to kill someone is sure as hell not going to care whether or not their gun is legal nor if they’ve had lessons on how to use it. What we need are much stricter punishments for gun violence, including the death penalty.

  24. Hey Herr Fuckhouser I own guns and have never killed anyone so fuck off asshole.

Laws that allow you to sit on your ass and not work but paid monthly by the government should be the laws that are repealed.

Self defense happens all the time but that doesn’t fit the narrative of the left wing anti gun nuts and the msm, they don’t want you to know the truth that ccw saves lives and in today’s society (out of control murderous blacks, dope heads running amuck, violent leftist attacks) it’s needed more now than evar.

  28. Pastor Adam Hamilton from the United Church of the Resurrection? He doesn't have any right to demand anything in Kansas City Missouri. Make all the rules you want in your part of town/state. Church of Resurrection is not a Kansas City Leader....they are in OPKS. While sorry for the loss... it was senseless and presumably accidental, they have no rights in Kansas City MO. The people of this City and State will deal with the consequences. These OPKS folks are spectators.

There are more than enough gun laws on the books and if fully enforced Chicago and Baltimore would be the safest places in the US. Instead 40 shootings in Chicago this weekend.
There is no feeling of personal responsibility or accountability among the criminals. Fully enforcing the current gun laws and maximum punishment for violating them is what is needed. The Department of Justice must get very tough on the people committing these crimes. Then maybe a KCFD captain would not be selling illegal guns out the back door of the fire station.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 6:45 and let's add the prosecutor's office needs to "prosecute to the fullest extent of the law"

I do not understand, although I live far away, why I cannot seem to find people, aside from TKC, who wish to post my thoughts. Not in my home state, nor anywhere else for that matter. Puzzling why they apparently do not give a shit about what I have to say. I know I'm more intelligent than you conservatives.

  36. What folks don't talk about (the elephant in the room) is that in addition to self defense, gun ownership is also, and maybe most importantly, to give citizens some defense from an oppressive and rights depriving government.

Anti gunners often state we would have no chance against military oppression. Partially true, but how many sons, daughters, fathers and mothers in uniform would be willing to kill their own loved ones and neighbors. I suspect the military might not be such a reliable instrument of revolting citizens.

It would not be a sure thing on the part of govt, and that should give even the most liberal (elite) politicos food for thought.

The founding fathers wanted to make sure no person nor group would ever again be able to exert total control of the population of this unique and great country. That could trigger a bloodbath to make The Civil War a walk in the park.

The unfortunate truth is these kinds of tragedies will occur from time to time, and cannot be legislated out of existence in a free society. It is a sad and high price to pay for our freedom, but if it is such a burden, I suggest those folks who cannot handle it relocate to one of the many, many places in the world where you are supposedly safe from firearm violence. Of course those places will control your life in so many more ways than the USA.

  37. The pastor did change the course of the conversation. He started out with an outrageous lie based on a different lie, that many are skipping over. The question of was he a CCW and if he were, did he just need more training is designed to obfuscate the root problem: this gun was likely not legal in the first place.

Anybody committing a crime with a gun should do 5 years minimum. That is a law on the books currently that is almost NEVER enforced. If we did, a lot of these murders wouldn't happen.
