An interesting interview and contention from the former Missouri Rep, Secstate and Kansas City mayoral candidate. Whilst some deal with the impact of PTSD for a lifetime, Jason Kander offers hope of recovery only about a year after revealing his condition.
Credit where it's due, after a junket of national media interviews. The local NPR station does a decent job and finds the right soothing tone for this sit down.

KCUR: Jason And Diana Kander On Facing PTSD
Deets:
"Like any other injury . . . it's something you can treat and you can recover."
It took almost 12 years for Jason Kander to realize he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and seek treatment for it. The former Kansas City, Missouri, mayoral candidate and his wife Diana recalled the years leading up to the diagnosis and how that time affected them individually, as a couple and as a family.
You decide . . .
Maybe a softball interview but he had to have known he would take a lot of sh*t around local social media forums.
ReplyDeleteI like the work that Kander is doing, it's for a great cause but not sure if he'll have a chance at political office in the next 5 years.
The mayor thing was a let down. He actually would have made a really great mayor of KC. PTSD or not, I think he knew there was no way that he had the votes to get it. Might not have even made it out of the primary.
DeleteOne errand boy for the chamber is just as good as the next.
ReplyDelete^^^^ +1
DeleteI suffered from PTSD for a while from having to pay the ex wife's shopping bills.
ReplyDeleteThey're still pushing the ptsd thing even though it was his excuse to exit the mayoral race once he saw the mess he would have inherited.
ReplyDeleteThis is another example of how the media props up people little relevance for political purposes. Kander hasn't don't much except lose elections over the last few years but there's a story about him every fucking week
Just seeing STEVE KRASKE on the credits of all these productions is enough to give anyone PTSD.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by whilst?
ReplyDelete^^^ It mean KCMO is a sophisticated, frosty, and vibrant British style colony.
ReplyDeleteHe’s miraculously healed after the mayor race. Go figure!
ReplyDeleteGee I’m sure an S-2 officer was out in the shit setting up ambushes and doing 72 hour missions on foot. Good grief Pander you dont wear the blue cord POG!
ReplyDeleteHe sure did dodge a bullet by getting out of the KC Mayor's race. If he lose that would be a major career setback, if he won he's actually have to do something about all of the local problems.
ReplyDeleteDoing interviews and social media is much more rewarding and profitable.
Evidently Jason must have had the stitches removed from his paper cut.
ReplyDeleteI"m sure his three months in country in an office was terrifying. "Computers! Printers! Hot meals! Showers! Surrounded! They were everywhere! Horrible and excruciatingly painful!"
ReplyDeleteSwift-boating is an ugly tactic. At least Jason served his country. Most you ass wipes haven't done shit for anybody but yourselves. And even then not a lot. Get a shower and a shave and get the hell of your couch to do something other than complain.
ReplyDeleteJust another career politician, preparing to con the voters again! He would have been a terrible Mayor, just like his acolyte, JoLie!!
ReplyDeleteA while ago on another kander article I saw a great comment. Basically it said that there are many fine people who help the Veterans Community Project but they don't advertise it all over social and national media. Maybe he's bringing more publicity to the table but he's getting a pretty good portion of the credit as well.
ReplyDeleteyeah yeah standing in ye ol' punchline
ReplyDeletefucking hell Kraske might be the worst interviewer of all times. Stop laughing, dick.
ReplyDeleteLander was never in combat, and he was only there 4 months. What a whining COWARD.
ReplyDelete9:23: +1000. Lots of comments about a guy who served overseas from a bunch of losers who served at McDonalds.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't too long ago that Pander was going to make himself the face of the veteran "Tiny Houses" program, that of course, others actually started and continue to do all the work on.
ReplyDeleteBefore that he was a one-man "nonprofit" that flew around the country "fighting" voter suppression, although somehow he managed to find time to visit New Hampshire and Iowa on his delusional presidential campaign.
Now it's become all face time on cable TV and local radio about his "PTSD" again.
What ever happened to those other pressing issues?
In fact, what exactly has he accomplished?
One thing you can always bank on:
Pander is all about HIMSELF.
But enough of Pander talking about himself.
What do you think about him?
Media whore on steroids.
^^^^^Go to your job. Those burgers won't cook themselves.
ReplyDelete8:05...don't look now but they stuck your burger in their ass before they put it on your bun.
ReplyDeleteI bet his Dick doesn't work. The PTSD drugs will make him limp.
ReplyDelete"Swift boating" means exposing a military liar's lies. No doubt Pander's harrowing brushes with death are seared, seared into his memory.
ReplyDelete^^^^Just keep searing those burgers, desktop warrior.
ReplyDeleteDon’t be sucked in by these glory hungry phonies pandering for high office. He only briefly served as a paper pusher. I remember he rode in a Hummer once with a real soldier that was armed. False flag for the win.
