Union at Claycomo plant says strike authority vote passes with 'resounding margin'

CLAYCOMO, MO (KCTV) - The union representing workers at the Claycomo Ford plant has voted overwhelmingly to go on strike if a new contract cannot be reached before September 14. More than 7,000 members of United Auto Workers Local 249 voted on the strike, with a resounding 98.4% voting in favor of the strike and only 1.6% against.
