Kansas City Bike/Walk Advocates Won't Rest Until They've Got $400-MILLION

Advocates and then consultants advocating their services will be bullying local neighborhoods in order to finance TOTALLY USELESS AND POORLY DESIGNED BIKE LANES and anyone who disagrees is part of a "toxic" culture and commits a hate crime . . . It's not really a compelling argument but still a nice trick to watch mostly middle-class white guys co-opt the language of the civil rights movement in order to garner political power . . . Take a peek:

YOU can speak up for safer streets: upcoming advocacy opportunities

Our local governments work best when residents get involved. Whether you talk to your neighbors about sidewalk conditions, attend a public meeting about Complete Streets, or write your councilperson about drivers speeding by your kids' school, you are an advocate for necessary change in your communi

  1. I’m still trying to figure out how it cost 400 million dollars to paint stripes on the street, who the hell is getting paid off with this deal?

Councilman Eric "Spandex" Bunch is very quiet when it comes to the appalling crime in KCMO, #5 most deadly city in the nation, but he is the #1 spandex clad cheerleader for the Bike/Walk KC scam.

  5. A city that is 700-million dollars short on its pension contributions should not be buying street paint. PS.. with no solution in sight.

  6. Was driving along Benton Plaza the other day and there are huge green arrows all over the street, haphazardly pointing South on Benton Blvd. Was trying to figure out what the meant and bump bump, ran over some bike laying in the road. Not a good solution if there would've been a rider on that bike. And, who the heck is riding a bike down there anyway?

  7. Yes, catering to a slim minority of single-issue bike fanatics is exactly what we should be shoveling ludicrous amounts of money into.

Did you hear about the Councilman who got his panties in a Bunch???

  9. Put every bike lane east of the paseo and I'll support it. Other than that, people pushing bike lanes need to publicly shamed. I'd say castrated but they don't have any balls anyway

  13. Eric Bunch hates cars. Single issue councilman. He wants 400 million of your tax dollars to screw up the arterial roads of Kansas City. Nice guy, but clueless!

  14. It cost $276 million to build the Sprint Center. And that was an 18,000+ seat arena that involved some pretty significant demolition to clear the land and all that goes along with building a new arena. And they expect us to believe to do bike lanes is going to cost 1.5 times that amount of money? Sounds to me like someone is about to make a ton of money that shouldn't be at the expense of tax payers. No way this costs $400 million.
