KANSAS CITY 2019 HOMICIDE #100: INCREASINGLY VICIOUS AMERICAN CULTURE FUELS RISING MURDER RATE!!!

Sometime in the very near future Kansas City will record the 100th homicide so far this year. The rate of local killing has escalated sharply in the past few weeks -- In fact, the carnage exceeds the traditional end of Summer crime spike. This town is now on a record pace for murders despite a change in leadership, increased efforts to garner community cooperation and ongoing outcry from elected officials, authorities and neighborhoods. Neither $25,000 for tips nor military exercises and war zone helicopters buzzing overhead have proven effective in keeping the peace.

Placing blame on a myriad of contributing factors has been the only real reaction residents have witnessed during this Summer slaughter. Local anti-gun advocates echo the national progressive imperative to disarm the populace and betray the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution with makeshift solutions that also haven't been effective in some of the most violent places in the nation. Everything from video games, mental illness & white supremacy has also earned rebuke in the search for a culprit. Meanwhile, right-wing news-watchers blinded by statistics will earnestly point to data revealing the prevalence of violence among young Black males but then condemn the entire minority populace for those crimes up to and including immigrants from nations far less violent than this one.

As we slouch to complete another year of horrific, local homicides statistics, let's consider the root cause that binds violence and disrespect for life across cultures, demographics and communities.

Kansas City along with the rest of the nation is becoming increasingly vicious in every aspect of our existence.

There are too many examples to pull from the news cycle but by no means is this a partisan rebuke given that both the abortion AND immigration debate pushed by Progressives & Conservatives alike demonstrate very real callousness and near disdain for human life and the future of the world's youth.

Of course our political discourse has always been bitter and corrosive but now social media has moved us past the so-called "politics of personal destruction" and into a virtual mob mentality hell-bent on annihilation of any opposition. Inasmuch as President Trump has used this strategy to his advantage, his opposition has also garnered support by mirroring exactly the same tactics.

But the viscous nature of American life extends beyond politics. Dominant corporations ruling over our culture are no longer American institutions but nothing more than international conglomerates with no loyalty or motive other than maximizing profit at the cost of human lives. Pharmaceutical companies have been caught playing the same drug pushing game as narco-terrorists. Banks and financial institutions are now "too big to fail" taxpayer-backed operations tantamount to casinos and even American currency has been politicized and co-opted into the current culture war.

The solution?

Sorry but it only gets more bleak for those looking to a local blog for answers.

This space isn't safe and the main function is merely to keep track of local violence and hope to spark critical and alternative perspectives that don't accept the status quo debate which only seeks to capitalize off the murder spike in an effort to advance a political agenda.

And so, the murder count in our town continues and what we notice more than anything else is that whose who decry the brutality by attempting to place blame on their opposition often operate by way of the very same vicious methods which are the source of so much evil threatening this nation and Kansas City.

    2. It's the guns. Mayor James and now Mayor Lucas are on the right path working toward regulating guns. Children shouldn't have guns and guns shouldn't be openly displayed in public. If you want to stop the killing look at the way most people are killed, by a fire arm. I'm sorry if it's unpopular but if you take away the guns then you will stop the crime.

  7. I am still lost as to why our military doesn't open a base in every shithole city where violence is out of control i.e. St. Louis, Chicago, New Orleans, Kansas City etc. Bring the fight to them for once.It is more than obvious that more cops are not going to do shit but paperwork after the killing. Stop voting Democrats in these places would also help. Ironic how violent democratic ran cities are, huh? Instead we look past the subculture and all the shit they do and cause in our country. If you want a solution, you have to go full throttle and stomp some ass in the process. For the life of me, i have no clue as to why our society glorifies this bullshit in music and movies today. Especially in their own community.

  8. Hey brainiac, you can't use the military on domestic law enforcement. Look up Posse Comitatus.

You really want some moron President (regardless of the party) coming in with the US Rangers to kick your ass because you slam them for stuff like overspending or email servers in the closet?

  9. Killing someone by accident or for retaliation has become the standard behavior in some communities. No reward will make any difference. It's just what you do to get by. A drug deal gone bad, a word or a look taken the wrong way, a romantic relationship soured, and it doesn't take a second to rack up another killing. Lives don't matter at all. It's the culture.

  12. Instead of releasing violent people back on the streets after 12-18 months in jail, if that, we need the kind if severe (and fitting) punishments that we used to use in this country. Kill someone in cold blood? 20 years hard labor on a chain gang. That will make these thugs think twice about acting as they do. That's the solution to this, I'm convinced of it. Nothing else works, obviously.

  13. KCPD allows this crime to continue. They get state and federal grant money for the war on crime. More Crime, More Money. They intentionally don't have a jail, intentionally making it difficult for police to be motivated and intentionally spend money on upper lever supervisors instead of your ground troops

  14. 11:27 is right but his solution will work only after we get rid of the goddamn liberal fag judges and Jean Petersucker Baker. They work together running the revolving door on the jail.

  15. Some interesting arguments in here. I like that we can actually have a back and forth instead of just agreeing and head nodding that happens on the talk shows. The best comments here at least show people thinking about the problem and how we need to have more accountability from our judges, prosecutors and police not just electeds.

  18. Go4KC, consider this: I was born and raised in the south. 99% of the city (population 100k +) owned guns. Homicides were rare, and even today the city logs less than 10 murders per year. I never recall a child being hurt by an accessible gun. Some of the boys in my high school were hunters and would have deer rifles in their vehicles (faculty was aware) and yet we never had a school shooting or even the threat of one. Shooting ranges provided a place to practice gun safety. So, how was it, in this heavily armed area, that we never experienced the gun violence that plagues many US cities daily? It’s because the gun owners were RESPONSIBLE. Taking away guns from everyone makes no more sense than banning cars because some people drive drunk and kill others. The bad actions of one segment of society (typically the blacks) should not penalize everyone.

  20. Of course, this superficial feel-good ordinance will have no effect whatsoever on the continuing KCMO carnage.
Keep in mind that we're dealing with people whose behavior is such that it's perfectly acceptable to them to have a drive-by firing a rifle blindly into a house killing an 8 year-old boy in his bed, or emptying a clip without aiming killing a young woman at First Friday.
The nicities of city ordinances or even any sense of moral responsible behavior are totally lost on them.
The vast majority of murder perpetrators and victims are black and most of those crimes take place within a 60 square block are in the urban core.
Only a handful have been perpetrated by "teens".
Just the latest example of willfully ignoring the actual facts of the issue.
2019 is on track to be another record-breaking year for murders.
KCMO's place as the fifth most dangerous city in America is assured.

Go4KC does a good job spewing the current narrative and falsely claims most people are killed with firearms. Most people are killed by botched medical procedures and auto accidents than any other method but no outrage about this.

There are more than enough laws if they were fully enforced but that doesn’t fit the narrative. Fully enforce all current laws and hand out maximum punishments.
Prison reform, which was enacted many years ago, has miserably failed. Eliminate the cause of the crime, bad people, and the situation will improve.

This mess boils down to responsibility and accountability. Bad behavior starts at the home and escalates from there. People need to start with a better home life. The people committing the crimes need to be held accountable for their actions. People also need to be responsible for their actions and quit playing the blame game. This includes replacing a failed prosecutor. Sadly it is much more difficult to replace lenient judges but they need to go.

  22. 4:12 I can do that too, here goes. One country on Earth has constant murders and frequent mass shootings. No other country in the world does. All countries have people with mental health problems, yet only one suffers from thousands of shootings a year. The difference between the rest of the world is guns, plain and simple. Make any ridiculous argument you want that your gun has never shot anyone but thousands of people die per year because of other people's guns. Cue your "cars cause thousands of deaths a year or forks cause obesity" in 3..2..1..

  23. ^^^^ The country with the greatest opportunity to succeed also offers the greatest ways to fail. It is called freedom, some can handle it maturely some can't. A swift justice system with liberial use of the death penalty would help.

  24. You can’t find an effective solution on the outside looking in! Change is an individual choice. A community choice. There is nothing the police, prosecutor or government can do to curtail free will. Killing in KC has become a sport. A step closer to anarchy.

  27. The U.S. is 3rd in murders throughout the world. If Chicago, Baltimore, Washington DC, St Louis, and Los Angeles were excluded the United States is then 189th out of 193 countries in the entire world.

These 5 cities have strict gun control laws and are governed by Democrats.

    Ban Democrats and not guns.

  33. 6:35, other countries don’t have the crazy blacks that the US has. There are many more murders committed by blacks than by mentally ill people. Blacks in other countries don’t adhere to and idolize the gangster lifestyle. Some can even speak intelligible English. But not in America. You and your lefty pals have coddled their irresponsible lifestyle and written it off as “diversity” and something to be admired and celebrated.

  36. Jesus 2:18, Africa has a fucking continent full of them you dumb ass. They don't have constant gun murders because everyone doesn't have a gun like in America. To your mental health argument, that's what you and the other paranoid incels on the internet and NRA is always peddling. Your stupid ass lefty librul argument is such an easy cop-out your NRA newsletter and Fox has told you to say. You say blacks are violent and crazy yet YOU and your like-minded ilk are the ones arming them. You fight for laws making it possible for almost anybody to easily get a gun. Your orange cult leader made it easier for crazy people to get guns once in office. One of the first things he did.

  37. 5:19, if anyone is a dumbass it would be you. I have traveled abroad extensively, and saying that the Africans on their continent (or those in Europe) are like African Americans is like saying that wolves are like poodles because they’re both canines. It is not the fault of responsible gun owners that crackpots use them to murder. If you want to cut down on homicides, execute murderers. It’s a slightly more significant deterrent than a 40 year prison sentence that will be drastically reduced. Of course you bleeding heart twats are opposed to capital punishment as well. Sorry to inform you that unicorns aren’t real and there isn’t a rainbow behind every marshmallow cloud. Grow a pair and call things as they really are instead of pussyfooting around and blaming everyone else for the actions of the dregs of society.
