Jackson County Executive issues proposal to expedite elevator repairs and modernization
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Today, Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. recommended a proposal to expedite the repair and modernization of the six downtown courthouse elevators in response to concerns of the Presiding Judge.
The County Executive is proposing changes to the County’s purchasing code, which would broaden his authority to waive the County’s competitive bidding requirements in the event of an emergency. This modification would allow the County Executive to immediately enter into a contract for the repair and modernization of the downtown courthouse elevators.
Only the County Legislature can amend the County’s purchasing code by ordinance.
“Since becoming County Executive, I have advocated for increased funding for the downtown courthouse,” said Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. “While I understand the Judge’s frustrations, we cannot move forward by continuing to point fingers. County staff is and continues to work very hard on this issue and it is critical that I have the Legislature and Courts support if we truly are working in the best interest of our citizens. The Legislature approved my recommendation for funding in the 2019 budget and had it not been for the devastating floods, we would be well underway on the elevator modernization project.”

ReplyDeleteOh say, can you smell the bullshit in that comment? Frankie the liar speaks again.
ReplyDeleteFrank should consult with Gail Beatty. Certainly she can do it right.
ReplyDeleteMakes one curious who he is trying to steer a contract to. Maybe somebody who kept his house out of foreclosure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a guy!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't run a one-car garage, but he can sure get those elevators fixed!
Great issue for his re-election campaign.
What a joke!
Incompetent moron. No better than the majority of voters that elected him for one or both reasons, race and the fact he is a demotard.
ReplyDeleteA new company on the scene called Skippy's Elevator Service just got the contract.
ReplyDeleteOooooooooooooooo shocker
ReplyDeleteFrickin brilliant. The bulb burns so bright my two year old eclipse glasses dont even work
DeleteJust another bump for Caleb Clifford to deal with and he will.
ReplyDelete^^^ By doing what, giving more bad advice?
ReplyDeleteHe obviously has never read Chapter 10 of the County Charter. 1030.3 biddi g shall not be required if the County Executive has declared, in writing that the purchase is a emergency. Anything over $25,000 shall be reported to the Legislature at the next meeting...
ReplyDeleteFrankie whines, "...and had it not been for the devastating floods..."
ReplyDeleteWhich is a weak, wormy way of sidestepping, "...and had the proper maintenance been performed on the buildings' water and other infrastructures..."
But, but, ride the FREE touristy bar crawler through the 5th ranked murder momentum MARVEL!
I don't think the county wants to let Frank loose with too much money. He ties it all up in lawsuits.
