IS 'THE WALL' WORKING IN WESTPORT?!?

Kansas City urban planner advocates argued about this one for year but what nobody expected but should've is that WESTPORT BIZ IS DOWN PRECIPITOUSLY after shootings and "THE WALL" only made it worse . . . A few recent closings prove this point as biz hopes new residents will make up the difference in traffic later this year.

The good, bad of Westport's metal detectors one year later

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Metal detectors were added Aug. 31, 2018, at entry points to Westport on Friday and Saturday nights. Since then, visitors must walk through metal detectors from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. with the goal of reducing crime. The early returns are encouraging.

  1. Everything's probably better in westport. I mean, looks what happened at first friday. At least westport's trying to be proactive while the first friday advocates just stick their head in the sand and say "party on!" while FF gets chimped out on

  2. Maybe we can make the Mexican border one big long metal detector?

  3. “We're trying to create places that people like to go hang out and enjoy Kansas City," he (Rick Usher, Ass. City Mgr.)said.

The caveat is that Westport businesses told 41 Action News foot traffic also is down.
“I'd say somewhere between 25 and 35% in the past year,” Nick Woods (Westport Businessman) said.

Another resounding success from City Hall!

    MOMENTUM!

Uh Rick the job of a city manager and his assistant is not to work on creating entertainment and amusement parks.

  10. I don't drink, but I used to enjoy dining in the area, seeing acts at the local venues with my family and friends. The side streets are dangerous and you are taking your life into your own hands going there without some means of protection. pass.
