Celebrate New Kansas City Streetcar That Violated Citywide Voting Requirement

Once again for the cheap seats we remind our blog community that In an open and citywide election . . . Kansas City voters OVERWHELMINGLY REJECTED streetcar expansion without checks and balances.

17,344 KCMO voters agreed that the Downtown TDD should have to ask the entire city before spending money backed up by KCMO government . . . Today we take a look at more proof that municipal Democracy doesn't really matter and is rarely enforced if there aren't deep pockets to back up election outcomes. Checkit:

KC Streetcar fleet grows to 6 starting Monday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - When Kansas City launched its streetcar service in May 2016, it did so with a fleet of four streetcars. Three years and millions of riders later, the service will welcome its sixth streetcar on Monday. The streetcars are numbered 801, 802, 803, 804, 805 and 806.
