  1. Ate many a meal there, not what you call fine dining but fast easy and much better for you than fast/junk food. You got a good meal at a good price. Use to love going there in early 60's as a child and seeing the mixed variety of people who went in there. It was the place where the working man and the suits would all chow down together sitting elbow to elbow with one another.

  2. First there was the attack on J.C. Nichols Plaza legacy, then...

Nichols Lunch was forced to close after "Professor" Kraske mistakenly called it a relic of our racist past, and led a protest boycott against the business.

The truth? It was founded by a hardworking Greek immigrant and has served the community with good food at fair prices for decades.

  5. I remember the nice lady who used to make the biscuits from scratch used to use a rusty soup can to cut the biscuits out of the dough leaving a brown ring on the biscuit. Often thought that's what gave their biscuits such a different flavor

  6. Let's also not forget it was the last place in the city that offered a true blue plate special for those who were low on funds. Never knew what it was going to be each day but you knew you could get a good hot inexpensive filling Meal

  7. @11:07, That sounds like his style. Just another reason for Krapske to go back up north to whichever state spawned him.

  8. I remember they didn't let negroes eat there or work there. That was cool.
