WHY WON'T MODOT MOW THEIR GRASS AROUND KANSAS CITY URBAN CORE?!?!

Check social media and notice a common complaint from Westside, East side and Northeast . . .

MODOT ISN'T MOWING THEIR KANSAS CITY PROPERTY THIS SUMMER!!! NORTHEAST WEEDS HAVE GROWN NEARLY 7-FEET!!!

Of course the money crunch might be their first excuse . . . Also, state organizations don't have to follow city rules. Meanwhile neighbors complain of a public hazard threatening drivers and homeowners as snakes, rats, hobos etc. are attracted to the local blight.

  2. It started a few years back. There's a spot at the intersection of Passeo and Independence Ave where southbound traffic merges with traffic exciting north bound i35. The grass is cut so infrequently that the Passeo traffic risks getting hit in order to get far enough out to see the traffic. I mow two or three times each summer but a bit of MODOT help would sure be appreciated.

  4. I think the answer to this question is: They don't mow because of snakes, rats, homeless, and the fact that it occurs in one of the poorest parts of the city.

    Poor people don't count.

  5. Funny thing MOdot doesnt have to mow, but if you dont mow your yard you get a fucking fine, how does that shit work? Well it works because the government is corrupt as fuck, thats how it works. Cops can speed in their personnal vehicles, get pulled over while intoxicated and get a "courtesy" ride home and never get a ticket, or a DUI. KCFD can invite minor girls into the back of their station (old station 19 in Westport back in the day) Rob and pilfer funds from the citizens via their powerful gay fire union, justifyed through propaganda. Its the new world now, no rules if you are a government official, rules and laws only apply to the tax payers who voted and trusted those officials to make shit better, the only thing they make better is for themselves and not the best interest of the voters. All government officials need to be held accountable for their every action just like the rest of us are under their rules, laws and silly ordinances.
