TKC READER: NEW KCI CONSTRUCTION KILLS AIRPORT PARKING ACCESS!!!

1st person testimony, a bit of a (welcomed) conspiracy theory and a the REAL STORY on how new airport construction is really going so far . . . Special thanks to one of the best TKC readers:

Can the city F Up the airport more?

"If you’ve gone to MCI lately you’ve seen they’ve closed the terminal parking and forced everyone to economy parking. Did you know these clowns are only running two buses for all of economy parking? Our city government isn’t just incompetent- they’re painful assholes trying to make things so bad (artificially) that they become hero’s with the new parking lot.

P.S. - Oh. They’re also repaving terminal b...right before they tear it down. WTF. Can’t they pave Waldo or Brookside?"

You decide . . .

  1. It was always going to be this way. What's worse is that we're going overbudget as we speak. Paying top dollar for this nightmare.

  2. No planning equals chaos. This is what Sly and the city has done. The entire city is a mess now. NO PLANNING, building without parking, bike lanes that interfere with driving, plowing, and obstruction of drivers vision. But Hey....You can't fix stupid, just take a look at sly's wardrobe and his dumb ass son.

  3. You don't need vehicle parking at KCI
Everyone is going to be walking, riding electric scooters, taking their bicycles, or hailing a rideshare.
You must have missed all the press releases from KCMO city hall informing the public that KC is a cutting-edge center of innovation, art, creativity, and technical expertise.
    Get with the program!

  4. Failure to plan is planning to spend $$$$ to up-charge happy contractors. It will be shiny and new when the ribbon is cut but it will be a patchwork, piecemeal failure. My head silently explodes every time I hear a Richie Rich who does not live in Kansas City praise the City for "fixing" KCI and making it more "modern". There was nothing wrong with it that some routine maintenance or planned remodeling would not have fixed.

  7. Oh but you all remember it was the voters who wanted this. Where are all of them now pleading and preaching how great a deal this is?

If an investigation for voter fraud was to ever be made I'd say it would need to be done in Jackson County and sooner than later. To many elections of late just don't add up.

Denver built a new airport in 95 and it was way over budget and a nightmare from day one, They are spending almost another 2 billion now redoing a lot of the screw ups from 95 and they have no more got started and are already forecasting the redo taking 10 or more months longer than stated and seeking more money than was promised the cost would be. Just wait till you see what KCI will end up costing in the end. Kansas City was sold a bill of good by leaders that are no longer in office and it will be no sweat off their backs as they walk away from what is looking to be the disaster of the decade for KC. In about 6 or more months KCI will probably be the butt of late night talk show jokes. Developers and and large construction companies love working in Kansas City where budgets are laughed at and the city will just pass another emergency payout of some sort to keep the developers happy as they go hundred of millions over budget on these poorly planned projects.

  11. Teresa Loar should stand out there and direct traffic to the correct parking lots. She can pass out all her left over “Renovate KCI To The Bones” pamphlets and show the public her plan would have caused far less parking problems LMAO
