Between skyrocketing taxes & rising violence and now property crime . . . This neighborhood known for discounts on impressive old school homes might not seem worth it to many longtime residents. Take a look:
Residents upset after graffiti plagues Hyde Park neighborhood
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Neighbors in Hyde Park woke up to graffiti outside their homes after five different tags took up a large stretch of newly built fence. One resident took to Facebook to express his frustration with what he calls a growing problem.
If anyone thought that moving to Hyde Park would save them from the savages, they're too fucking stupid to live.

ReplyDeleteThis is common practice in Central Hyde Park. The homes (if you can call them homes) that back up to Troost are tagged all of the time. No sooner do yo clean it off and it's tagged again. Funny thing people are moving in there and paying over inflated prices for those homes that are 100K to 200K over what they are worth. It's also in the red zone for one of the highest crime areas in the city over and above the Ave. in Northeast. I know there are some California dumb shits that think it's a good deal over there so they to blame too. Suck up your high taxes and high crime to go with it! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!
At lease you get a 300x's increase on your property tax
ReplyDeleteI've lived in hyde park my entire life and never had my property graffiti'd. Car was broken into but no graffiti
Too bad Hyde park is surrounded by little Beirut, Jesus Christ man you have to drive through a freakin war zone to get to it.
ReplyDelete@ 7:13 have you ever been in a war zone?
ReplyDeleteI live in killa shitty don’t I! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI bought a home in Hyde Park over 30 years ago. The stupid crap I put up with finally became too much and I moved to the burbs. The thing is Hyde Park will be the same 30 years from now.
ReplyDeleteWhat???
ReplyDeleteThis wouldn't happen if I were still around.

Hyde Park seems to be perpetually on the cusp of turning the corner into a nice KC enclave. It just never happens and probably never will. Shame, beautiful homes in that area.
