TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE SUPPORTERS CLAIM VOTER APPROVAL FOR FRANK WHITE ENDURES!!!

We've got A TON of notes to parse through on the Jackson County property tax hot mess but the most interesting message about the crisis comes from a supporter and insider among TEAM FRANK.

As always, in order to be fair to both sides, we think this deserves a look.

Here's the argument:

"TKC, I know how you love to cater to the mob but I just wanted to remind of you the overwhelming margin of victory that the Frank White enjoyed in both his election to office as a Legislator and as the County Executive. The County has simply never seen an official as popular as Frank White. There was not a single opponent with a viable set of endorsements willing to run against him. It might be fair to report some public frustration but I urge you to look at the big picture. If an election were held today, our internal numbers have shown us that there are no candidates in Kansas City that come close unseating Frank White."

And so we ask our most dedicated Sunday night readers:

IS JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE STILL UNBEATABLE DESPITE THE PROPERTY TAX CRISIS?!?!?

That's a tough sell but we can't argue that, even at this point, opponents (who don't have their own set of baggage) would be hard to find.

You decide . . .

Still 3 year out from the election cycle. We may be talking about replacement and not an election. Give it time TKC, give it time. You always were impatient.

  2. would like to put this theory to the test. At this point, I'd vote for Sly as County executive if it meant property tax increases lower than 300%.

  3. Is that what they really think? You could say that at election time but you sure as hell cant say that now. Even still, I bet most of the votes he got was from the blacks who would vote in anybody black even if they were a mass murderer.

  4. Love you Frank as a person, BUT!! you still weren't qualified to run, had some one pay your taxes twice.....
and the FBI and possibly the
State Auditor is still looking at you. Best to rid yourself of Caleb Clifford unless he has something on you.

  5. So, Go4KC has a side hustle of spinning for another in-over-his head failure. Good to know.

  6. Maybe now his numbers are okay, the minute the bills hit, he won't be able to run for dog catcher in KCMO.

  7. I hate to say it but there's a bigger point here. A lot people must have known he was clueless in the first place. Now he's just proving them right. If voters were dumb enough to put him in there, then it'll be hard to get him out.

  8. Frank doesn't make it to another election day. He's going to be charged eventually with perjury, fraud, tax evasion, who knows what else? The question is whether it'll be the state or feds who prosecute him first.

  9. Wouldn't be surprised. KC voters muy stupido. Always vote dem, and always get screwed. Too bad.

  10. Strange that White gets all the blame when every member of the County Legislature is just as much at fault in this chaotic mess.

One would almost be tempted to attribute these comments to some "Ism".

  11. Say what you will about Frank--that guy really knows how to swing a bat.

  12. 7:21 Actually Jackson County's crap charter gives nearly all the power to the county executive. The Legislators basically approve the budget and that's about it. They have no direct authority over assessment and collections. Frank appointed the directors and he awards loyalty to him over competence and service to the public.

This mess belongs to him. Don't let him dodge responsibility.

  13. 9:29 never a great hitter, but a good glove man. And a lousy county executive.

  14. Frank basically had an anonymous bureaucratic position until a month ago. That's why no one cared and he got elected. Now it's looking bad. Jacking up the property taxes is literally the one thing the city could not do to maintains its already slow growth

  15. Doubtful. Somebody does not dwell in reality.
