Three Weeks Of Jackson County Property Tax Spike Heartache Ahead This Summer?!?!

Buried in this report is the only new info we have been able to glean . . . If the BOE offers an extension, it'll be THREE MORE WEEKS filled with a litany of complaints and, hopefully, political pushback. Checkit:

  1. Two perfect examples of a out of control county assessor, these houses are at 37th and prospect, the house on the right went up $18,000 and the one on the left went up $16,000 a year, both of them are unlivable, even unrepairable and both need to be torn down, but yet the county found a way to raise the taxes, sad.

  7. Everyone loves taxes as long as they are imposed on someone else. I guess it sucks when you don’t get to determine what your fair share is.

  8. Well you know for sure taxes is something Herr Fuckhouser knows damn little about while beating up on any successful person.

  9. Tony, please keep reposting, over and over, Angie Ricono's incredible story about the web site one can use to support an appeal.

It's very specific with step by step advice.
In Jackson County the appraisers do not even bother to give you 3 comps, like we get in Joco. So one is flying blind trying to make a strong case. This man that Angie found is making a huge contribution to the fight.

    Do your homework, people.
    File your appeals.
Even if you file them late, file.

It is the only thing other than a recall that will make any difference.

  10. ^^^But regardless of any shortcoming in the method used to make the appraisal, an appellant will still have to show convincingly that the assigned market value is wrong, or that the appraised value exceeds 19% of market value. That will be really hard to do in most cases.

  11. Agreed, but it is exceedingly hard WITHOUT USING THE APP!

So stop tinkling on possibility and activism, and help people if you're so darn smart.
