STORMS KNOCK OUT KANSAS CITY GRID!!!

Morning rain leaves a great many in this town without power and desperately hoping it doesn't get any hotter. Here's the best guesstimate report:

Over 30,000 without power in Kansas City area

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- KCP&L is reporting that just over 30,000 people in the metro are without power. The company says that right now there are 1,032 active outages. The majority of the outages are in the Overland Park and Kansas City, MO areas. Power lines have been reported down in several areas.

  1. Northwest of Topeka hit really bad some areas have so many trees in the roads they put drift plows on the road graders to push debris off roads faster to get them open. Whole towns without power. We were lucky again.
