^^^^ Dumb, you obviously never helped or wanted to be involved in your community. That's why you spend all your time trolling a blog. Weird?

Sad.

It's hard to believe that anyone still questions why businesses have no interest in "investing" in an urban core.
First they have to deal with the incompetence of the city regulating agencies.
Then there'll be the shakedown by the usual suspects.
Insurance and security costs are far more than in other locations.
Employee safety becomes a critical issue.
And then there's always the shoplifting, crime, and even violence.
Looks like the creation of another "food desert".
A real tragedy for someone who was contributing to the community.
Condolences to his family and many many friends.

That is mot really the hood. White / Mexican working class, actually a decent urban area.

You're going to have a hard time making a case that ranks a 70 on violent crime (national average is 22. For perspective, this is even HIGHER than Camden, NJ, which is regarded as the most dangerous city in America) and where two people were shot is not the hood and a decent urban area. You expect violent crime to happen because you're used to reading about it that you wouldn't know what to do if you lived in an actually safe town
