Just a few weeks ago so many politicos across the city were making big promises about how they were going to change KCMO and work for "equity" on local streets. Sadly, those social media accounts are sadly unattended and mostly filled with selfies . . . Sadly, it's mostly our blog community, some vigilant newsies and a handful of locals still keeping watch and wanting to hold our elected officials accountable for their big talk on social media.

Neighborhood pleads for city to fix illegal dumping problem
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Illegal dumping remains an ongoing problem in Kansas City, Missouri. There have been strong efforts to fix it, including the placement of 22 cameras at 17 known illegal dumping sites, a new dumping hotline and more than $50,000 in citations last year.

ReplyDeleteKCMO should open up the regular landfill or designated place where people can bring their trash and bulky items legally. There is a cost to this but there's also a greater cost to clean up all of the illegal dumping. Also KCMO must increase the 2 bag limit on regular trash pick up. The 2 bag limit was a silly plan promoted by Sly James to try to force people to recycle, but as everyone can see, it only increased illegal dumping and trash and debris everywhere. Hope the new Mayor and council will be smarter then the old.
