Missouri Senator Hawley Hates Nike

Show-Me culture war rhetoric from the frosh lawmaker who seems just a bit too desperate eager for another cable news talk show appearance. Take a peek at what is definitely a branding FAIL and a great opportunity to alienate friends & family via social media:

Missouri Sen. Hawley calls Nike 'anti-American' after decision not to sell American-flag sneaker

JEFFERSON CITY - U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley, Missouri's junior Republican senator, called Nike "anti-American" on Tuesday after the shoe company said it would not sell an American-flag themed sneaker after all. The Air Max 1 USA shoe had already been sent to retailers to go on sale this week for the July Fourth holiday, the Wall Street Journal reported.

  2. Ironically, Betsy Ross was raised in a Quaker household. The Quakers were among the early driving forces for abolition of slavery. I get Kaepernick being a dumb jock, but one would expect Nike to think before they act, like, you know, most adults.

  6. Next Lil' Josh will be holding up a blank sheet of paper and announcing that there are 206, 407 or 93 Soviet agents in the State Department -- depending on the day of the week and the able news network in the hall. Sad, really

(Of course, the President will correct him "No, Josh. They are not soviets anymore, just Russians. And Vlad says the correct number is only 76. Or 760. I forget.

Check with Rachel Maddow. Her hysterical tales of Russian weather control are always good for a laugh.

  7. The Senator is correct. Nike does not respect the United States of America and Colin Kaepernick is an enemy of this nation. He's a rat and he should move somewhere else asap. The hell with both of them. Nike will never get my business. Ever.

Oh, let's ask Barry, Val, Loretta, Rahm, Podesta Breres, and the other Clinton cartel cast how many espionage pals they've collected together with her while she was OSS, er, uh, SOS. Phil's friend Hillybilly erased Emails that the State Department came to suspect are outlines of her role in Kremlin cronyism and crimes---like, concocting that slimy fabricated Steel dirty dossier, getting her fraudster foundation fattened to have campaign and espionage money at the ready. Hubble's daughter, Chipmunk cheeks, didn't spend THAT much time tapping out wedding plans back and forth for 2 years! Hillybilly's Rooskie contacts made during the uranium rip-off may put her closest buds, and possibly her, in the double agent hot seat. That mining rights mess smelled of the Clinton corrupt cartel. She figured on that second run for POTUS had to be a SURE thing this time. All that, plus bought off Bernie, and still lost.

"Colin Kaepernick is an enemy of this nation."

    Absurd.

I could make a better argument, that your statement shows that you are an enemy of this nation.

  13. Herr Fuckhouser you are a true enemy of the nation. You will be struck down and exposed for the scam artist you think you are. You will be exposed and you will pay for your actions. When you attacked our POTUS you set in motion a group of individuals who have made it a point to see that the right thing is done here. You have been shitting in our town for way to long and the time to put an end to it has been putinto motion.

  14. ^^^Apparently a bunch of pants-shooting geezers do. It’s easier for them to hate Nike as in-American than for them to admit that they can’t afford to buy a pair and admit that Nike doesn’t want or need their business.

WTF? Nike sells some styles at $60 and $70, at brick and mortars across the Midwest. Less than $60, after coupons, with frequent shopper rewards, or during clearance sales. There is a lot of competition for the consumers' shoe dollars from other brands and loads of varying retailers to choose from. Lots of sports gear shops, shoe stores, Nike Outlet, Amazon, Dick's, Kohl's, JCPenney, Shoe Carnival, Sam's, Costco, and more, have Nike, plus equal and better brands. Adidas, Puma, Under Armour, and Asics outfit plenty of individual athletes and very many team sports clubs.

Nike is ghetto, now. And, for flamey gayzers!

If you can't tell that Trump is bad for our country you're just not a smart person. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Trump has failed in almost all his business ventures except for being a loud, pompous, dumb, whiny rich boy baby reality TV star.

  17. 6:47 he did, the electoral college way. Lying to farmers and small town folk. Now they're paying the price. It's the city and suburban people who he lied to too. Fooled them into thinking that a pampered trust fund baby really cared about working class people. The presidents role is civil service. The guy has only cared about 1 person this whole time. Himself. Rep or dem it doesn't matter, he went with who he could fool the easiest, it just happened to be the republicans. Hell he said it himself, pretty much slapped the party in the face.

  23. So a company attempts to co-opt patriotism as a marketing ploy, encounters market resistance that ties its latest scheme to America's original sin (bigotry), then abandons the misstep to salvage its reputation among a substantial share of its market. Sounds like sound business judgment in a free market to me. What could be more American?
