KCPD CHIEF ARGUES FOR $25K HOMICIDE TIP INCREASE EFFECTIVENESS DESPITE ANOTHER BLOODY KCMO WEEKEND!!!

Kansas City is once again on a record pace for 2019 homicides, gunfire and two murders dominated headlines over the weekend and property crime is growing worse in many neighborhoods. Nevertheless, here's the new Chief highlighting local efforts and offering numbers to support his claim . . .

KCPD CHIEF'S BLOG: $25,000 reward greatly increases homicide tips

Money line from The Chief . . .

I am grateful to announce that two Kansas City, Missouri, homicides have been solved in the last month thanks to anonymous tips that carry a reward of $25,000 each. Both of those tips came in after the June 21 press conference announcing the $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in homicides that occurred in Kansas City, Missouri.

For many, $25,000 is life-changing money. We also hope it will change the lives of families who are grieving with no sense of justice over who killed their loved ones. The trend is certainly looking good. According to numbers from Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers, since the press conference announcing the reward increase, there have been 58 tips submitted on Kansas City, Missouri, homicides. Compare that to the month prior (May 20 – June 20, 2019), when there were only 23 KCMO homicide tips. That’s an increase of more than 150% month over month . . .

The truth is that we'd probably have even more homicides without this reward. It's getting rough out there and this is one of the few new ideas that has proven effective.

That means there are two good used Escalades on the road today! Hahahahaha! Been telling people for years 10 grand won’t buy a good used Escalade!

The tips are useless if the judges don't lock people up for good.

Tips are one thing.
Good information is entirely something else.
And actual testimony is probably critical to pursuing a case.
Followed by effective prosecution.
And serious sentencing.
This breathless claim is putting the cart WAY before the horse.
Especially at the rate KCMO homicides are going.

79 murders to date and how many have been caught?

^^^^^ the clearance rate is now at 56% but that's just a number to give to the FBI. There are still a lot of killers on local streets.

Killa shitty should be paying the victims families...... oh never mind, it’s all blacks anyway

The money from a paid reward comes from somewhere said...

Who pays for that reward? I think it sucks when someone gets murdered as long as it doesnt cost me anything when I had nothing to do with it! I dont murder people so that reward better not be coming out of my tax dollars!! Maybe we need a more compitent police department!
