KANSAS CITY STAR OMITS TRANS HOBO ALLEGEDLY MAKING RACIST THREATS AGAINST ASIAN STORE OWNER IN 'BRUTALITY' SCREED TARGETING KCPD!!!

Just now, in what seems like a pathetic attempt to boost subscription and advertising numbers, the newspaper is spreading dangerous misinformation that puts local streets at risk.

To wit . . .

A KANSAS CITY STAR UNSIGNED EDITORIAL ATTACKS KCPD FOR BRUTALITY BUT FAILS TO PROVIDE THE FULL CONTEXT OF THE CONFLICT!!!

The newspaper screed offers little description of the hobo lady and her sacks of junk strewn across the Plaza and only note that she was "accused only of misdemeanor offenses . . . The police report suggests THE SUSPECT refused to leave a store near Brush Creek Boulevard and Virginia Avenue and struggled with officers when accosted."

Thankfully, KCTV5 offers more context: "The woman was inside the store shouting racial slurs offensive to Asian people at him and refused to leave."

It's also important to know that our blog community talked about this situation last month as we considered the right to record the po-po.

We noted the limited coverage again over the weekend as the newspaper apparently was gearing up to move forward with a false narrative.

Today's editorial conclusion from the newspaper:

"The video footage does show the officers’ basic disregard for the well-being of a human being. And that should deeply trouble us all."

Meanwhile our TKC hot take:

THE KANSAS CITY STAR SHOWS A BLATANT DISREGARD FOR READERS WITH THIS ONE SIDED SCREED THAT HOPES TO SPARK PROTEST AGAINST POLICE WITH A ONE-SIDED REPORT!!!

A few more things to consider . . .

- Don't expect an outpouring of sympathy from the larger African-American community. A sad reality: Neither the Revs nor the East Side political establishment will stand up for a hobo trans lady who was allegedly resisting arrest.

- We don't argue the arrest looked rough. Maybe too rough??? That's up to viewers and already the case is up for review WHICH IS PROPER KCPD PROCEDURE. But the editorial jump to a conclusion without sharing context isn't journalism, it's propaganda.

- This story is old. KCTV5 was on it LAST MONTH and dredging up this one at the apex of Summer seems not only like lazy coverage from The Star but also a very cynical and dangerous ploy to push a destructive narrative which only endangers more people on local streets.

You decide . . .

God bless the popos. It's a dirty job, at times. Bet, if I had to get near that NASTY, I'd wanna slap the cuffs on real quick, then get to the disinfectant spray and sanitizer wipes PDQ, too! Buy stock in Lysol products. You just know LEOs across the nation are ripping right through them.

A so called good samaritan who was anything but that. The guy doing the recording was hell bent are wanting to prove the officers were wrong. This is one of those cases where the police do it all by the book and it's going to look bad. Look the police didn't instigate the issue, they were called to deal with a hell if I know what kind of citizen who felt they could do whatever they pleased. The police have the right to protect themselves and a person in handcuffs could kick two men of that size to death if they have the proper training to do such. Part of putting a suspect down and taking them into custody is by doing so in a manner that does not cause harm to the innocent victims close by and that includes police officers. Police officers are not paid to be out on duty where ever for someone to come along and have the freedom to kick their ass or kill them. Look nobody likes to kill except those with real mental conditions. I have done so during my time in the military and it is haunting at times but it was also me or them. Nobody I served with took pleasure in taking anyone's life and I'm willing to bet 99% of all police officers would agree and are the same way. I bet if you asked these two officers if they would have rather been on a traffic stop over dealing with this out of control person and hands down they would tell you the traffic stop. I know several police officers and not a one of them likes to deal with any incident in a physical manner. They will if need be but do not in anyway like or want to do so.
