Without TKC, many of us would have no clue what is goin on.

question, when the STAR dies, who will run their obit?

  2. Good morning Tracy and you're right. TWIKC is always a good way to get a local recap.

  4. Kraske and Helling are a couple of clueless, pompous blowhards. The Jackson County assessment is no more accurate this year than in previous years. How do you explain all the 14.9% increases? Or the fact a lot of properties were assessed for a whole lot more than they were just bought for? And for crying out loud explain McClain's mansion being grossly overvalued, the same McClain who funneled that bail out money to the county executive? It is no wonder local politicians get by with incompetence and corruption if crackerjack reporters like this are the "watchdogs."

  5. While most KC residents live in "tiny houses" which are over-appraised, Sylvester goes to Hawaii on the taxpayer dime and quacks about his sunken legacy in "Bowties for Blowhards."

  6. I actually give kudos to Dave Helling if he does indeed get in Sly James face about issues. It is bullshit to say that there was nothing he could do about crime in Kansas City though. If that were the case, how did Rudy Giuliani lower it in NYC? He took no shit from criminals and did things like stop and frisk. If they did that randomly on the east side of KC, crime would drop at least 40%. I don't see the next mayor doing that so prepare for the crime rate to likely increase. Nice trip to Hawaii,Sly. No wonder we still have potholes you gravy sweating fat bastard.

  7. 1:06, in NYC the police commissioner is appointed by and reports to the mayor. In KCMO, the mayor is only one of five police commissioners - the other four are appointed by the state. Unless you are certifiably insane and want Mayor James or Mayor Lucas to run the KCPD, state involvement is a good thing.
