Kansas City Metro Catholics Wait Patiently For 'Conscious Protection' Rule

A Supreme Court battle that has several local backers watching the case closely . . . The basics:

"Under the rule, which was to have taken effect July 22, medical workers or institutions would not have to provide, participate in or pay for procedures they object to on moral or religious grounds, such as abortion and sterilization."

Local reference:

"The same day Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, and Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, chairman of the bishops’ Committee for Religious Liberty, issued a joint statement commending the new rule aimed at ensuring existing laws protecting conscience rights in health care are enforced and followed."

HHS delays implementation of conscious protection rule for health workers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agreed in a July 1 court filing to postpone implementation of a new conscience protection rule "because it is the most efficient way to adjudicate the final rule on the merits."

  1. Abortion is murder and Obama made everyone pay for it regardless of faith. Then he turned around and said he was a Christian?? Obama killed more Christians in his 8 years than Charlie Manson and Ted Bundy put together. Democrats are murders and support terrorism, even the rape of 12yr old little girls. Filthy people.

      And, filthy people laugh about rape of girls. The Clinton crime cartel's convicted pedo friend, Epstein, was arrested Saturday and is scheduled to be in Manhattan on Monday for indictment on federal charges of sex-trafficking.

    We live in a society where if you refuse to bake a same-sex marriage cake, the government will destroy you but if you sell dead baby parts from Planned Parenthood, the government will fund you.

  4. I think any doctor should be allowed to not do a procedure they don't agree with. If a doctor has a issue with a treatment that is not in line with the treatment of people for the good of all they should have the right to say no and suggest you seek out another doctor whose practices allow such.Noty like there is a shortage of doctors. I don't know of one doctor who supports abortions unless it's a medical procedure needed to protect the life of the woman involved.

    A part of the Hippocratic Oath states:
    I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.
    A Modern Version of the Hippocratic Oath states;
    I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

    The job of a doctor is to treat and cure if all possible that which ails us. Doctors don't go to school to learn the art of willy nilly doing abortions because it's a woman's right to have one.

  5. 1) Catholicism prohibits contraception. Pharmacists exist who won't fill a prescription for a pill or sell a condom. They should be labeled as Catholic pharmacies, or Muslim, or whatever they are. 2) Nobody wants to kill babies. Refusal to start debate by defining "baby" is intellectual cowardice. 3) It will be a moot point after 100,000 Catholics per MONTH are allowed entry into the United States and we become a Catholic shithole country like ALL the ones south of us. ZYGOTES ARE NOT BABIES, and Mary was no virgin, and Jesus is fake.

    This rule violates the First Amendments prohibition recognizing an establishment of religion. There is no asterisk, saying you can skip this amendment if you call yourself a Christian.

    "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

    Most people substitute the word "Congress" for "no one, anywhere" but that's an argument for another day.
