  1. OK Showmeinstitute if the city pulls the plug on Sunfresh and 18th and Vine, then we must pull the plug on every other venture including Power and Light, Downtown light rail, Cross-roads, all the new hotels etc. White folks are always chewing the rag about spending in the black community while turning a blind eye to loses in these other city sponsored areas. What need to happen in with all city sponsored projects is more oversight and involvement in the day to day operation of these ventures. This Sunfresh loss is peanuts compared to the million the city has lost with the ventures listed above.

  2. We have Burger King, Church's Chicken, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Arby's, Culver's, Subway, Jimmy Johns, Zaxby's, Mickey D's, and about a zillion pizza joints. Junk food is everywhere because that's what people want to eat. And if you need something at 2 in the morning? Quik Trip is the place to be.

Kansas City has few places that could be considered a "food desert" where folks are unable to find sustenance.
