HERE'S HOW NEW MAYOR & COUNCIL WILL DESTROY DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY!!!

Expect a lot more "equity and inclusion" from politicos along with continued sketchy "East Crossroads" efforts which threatens to destroy a lot of the small biz advances over the past decade. Take a look:

KCMO downtown plan will be updated

  2. East Crossorads is just a bridge to 18th & Vine. That might actually be a decent place to put the streetcar.

  3. Oh yeah, what about getting an AOC authenticated bartender of the year award?!7/18/19, 12:24 AM

Oh, um, there's got to be some, like, Greed New Deal stuff included. This is a Demoncrap city, after all, and since that MOD SQUAD is, like, the new face of Democrims, um, why not install those water saver toilets around downtown that AOC says you can drink from? Hey, and, like, um, put secure cage thingys at the Plaza, P&L, and Waldo, you know, same as Westport has, that separates the kids from the parents, er, I mean patrons!

  5. Downtown baseball stadium is all the development that's needed. It would make businesses want to come downtown and not rely on tax breaks anymore. Arrowhead can stay where it is.

  6. @10:40AM, that looks and sounds good on paper but they said the same thing about the streetcar in that it was supposed to be the last piece to spur development downtown. Then the last piece was the convention hotel. It's always going to be something. These developers are getting free money from the tax payers to build their projects. Money that should be going towards upgrading our infrastructure, or towards our schools, or going toward not having to raise my taxes on yearly basis... Why would developers ever give that up if they can get it regardless of whether there's a downtown ballpark or a streetcar or whatever? If you were a developer and you knew the history of KCMO was to give you 10s of millions of dollars for your project, would you give it up regardless of a downtown stadium or whatever else?

It's dollars and cents. And it sucks for tax payers. We're going to fund 80% to 90% of the cost of the stadium, get little to no money in return and still have to divert tax dollars to private development. The history of this town says as much.
