CELEBRATE!!! NOW KANSAS CITY LEADERS WANT TO POORLY IMITATE NASHVILLE!!!

First it was Portland, then Austin now civic leaders after more taxpayer cash for biz pipe dreams have a new city with better music history to mimic.

Here's a link to LOCAL HACK SPONSORED CONTENT barely disclosed and intended to give garbage urban planners a few more talking points . . . Meanwhile, the local identity crisis isn't as horrible as the murder count yet still shows a clear lack of imagination from a great many local leaders.

Booming Nashville skyline offers lessons for Downtown KC

  1. I lived in Austin for a long time and Kansas City is a MUCH better city. The leadership and taxation is terrible here but the actual city itself is much better. KC needs to go independent of Jackson County, or have them merge in some sort of way ALA KCK. Also, a downtown baseball stadium would do wonders for this city. I know this is not a popular opinion around here, but it's true

  2. You're nuts about the downtown ballpark. The traffic issues alone is the reason not to. No to mention the billion dollars need to buy property and redo all the roads surrounding said ballpark. Then there is the issue of where to put it. Face it downtown KC is way to small for any ballparks.

  4. KC is better than austin. Traffic is terrible in austin and it's a small sized city. After two weeks it's boring and you're paying $1,200 a month for rent, which is living with 5 other people who are super liberal trannies who smell and the food they cook smells. Austin in the late 90s and before was cool as shit but modern day Austin is everything bad about california in a landlocked desert. I will take KC over Austin every day. The founder of SXSW even moved to KC after living in Austin most of his life because he liked it better and it was somewhat affordable.

Over 100,000 people work downtown. so the infrastructure is already here and hardly used on the weekends. Traffic won't be an issue for a downtown park in fact it will be much easier than the shitshow that is the truman sports complex. Takes forever to get in and you have to sit in your car an hour to leave the lots. Sprint Center holds 19k, which is on the high end of what the royals would draw and no one's throwing a tantrum online about traffic when justin timberlake plays back to back shows here

    You're already like Nashville.

You're a segregated city where hype is more important than reality.

  14. The KC Chamber of Commerce cheerleader that wrote all this pro KC shit needs to be bitch slapped. Our monkey mayor Sly pursued Amazon HQ2 and our public schools are not even accredited. I sure hope Quinton does better and does not embarrass KC.

  15. No Kansas City is not better particularly because outsiders are trying to bring their bullshit, cooycat ideas to Kansas City. This is always the misguided focus of White people... and Kansas City doesnt compare or can even compete with most major music cities. Never has. Never will.
