Celebrate Disgraced Payday Loan Honcho Scott Tucker Estate Sale Payout Deets

The Feds hit him with hard time and all of the cash he "earned" has been now mostly picked over by middle-class shoppers looking for a bargain and a way to feel better about their lives of quiet desperation.

Here's the highlights of a recent report for educational purposes regarding the current state of capitalism that's a lot more fragile than most people suspect . . . Checkit:

KC Biz Journal: Court docs reveal just how much Scott Tucker estate sale fetched

Deets:

"More than 1,000 people flocked to the payday lending titan's $1.2 million Leawood home, which included items up for sale such as designer furniture, large-scale original art and other decor, gym equipment and designer clothing.

"The June estate sale netted $85,626, of which Kansas City-based Brown Button Estate Sale Services will take 35% for commissions and other fees . . . The remaining $53,626 will go to a court-appointed monitor who's been tasked with recovering assets Tucker obtained through money from operating his illegal payday lending business. To date, the court-appointed monitor has recovered $12.3 million, which will be dispersed to affected consumers."

  1. He donated a $million or so to a Catholic Church in Johnson County. That money was drained from payday loans to the inner city poor. It was used to expand a church used by wealthy JOCO parishioners. If the money trail is as clear as it would appear, why is the Catholic church not giving this money back? That would be the Christian thing to do, right? Social justice starts at home.

  2. Just one of your typical well to do Leawood Crooks exploiting anything they can get their hands into. KCMO politicians seem to be their favorite.

  3. Payday lenders are scum but there are those who value $100 today more than $150 next week. Unfortunately they will always be taken advantage of whether it be legal or illegal.

Genius, 10:32--and ADD to that: high interest credit cards--lotteries--casinos--expensive entertainment--pricy clothing--and other showy shit that the majority of "middles" and "barely making its" COULD DO WITHOUT TOO MUCH OF...until they can truly afford some of that lux!!!

Careful use of credit...especially while in the early earnings years CAN ACHIEVE COMFORTS, and maybe SAVVY WEALTH by the middle years. Dependable vehicles, a sensible home, a few larger NECESSARY items PAID FOR BY BORROWING CORRECTLY when starting adult life, and while raising kids is THE AMERICAN DREAM for most people. Debt-free Americans by age 60 is rare for several decades now.

Plus, toilet water in mama's second mortgaged basement tastes good to a brain-dead, blinged-out, designer duds, bleach-haired, dropout halfway through college loan burdened, broke-ass, burger flipping bum, huh?
