Will Kansas City Forgive Kevin Kietzman?!?! Social Media Followers REJECT Apology!!!

After a suspension and nationwide media rebuke, our TKC blog community has been searching diligently for alternative opinion in support of controversial talk Kevin Kietzman and there's none to be found from any prominent local media leader.

In fact, here's what we've found with a thorough review of the guy's Twitter account . . .

LOCAL SOCIAL MEDIA DENIZENS DENOUNCE KK AND DEMAND 810 WHB KEEP HIM OFF AIR!!!

To be fair, this controversy has served as prime time for longtime haters of Mr. Kietzman. It seems that everybody he ever hung up on is coming out of the woodwork to take a piece out of his reptuation.

However, the local media tour was a resounding FLOP as KK seemed arrogant and his half-apology seemed insincere to critics. Even Mr. Kietzman acknowledge the outpouring of antipathy.

And so, the real question is: Is this outpouring of antipathy something that can be overlooked with time or a sign of lingering resentment from local Chiefs fans that will turn away listeners from the station?!?!

The latest reports indicate Mr. Kietzman will return on Friday.

Only time will tell but the general consensus seems to be that 810 WHB will suffer with Mr. Kietzman on air as we've witnessed the public and advertisers moving to podcast, streaming and other online broadcast alternatives that are more in line with NEXTGEN audiences and fans.

  1. People don't have to wait to be a "caller" to talk back. His Twitter is a great sign of that.

A lot of people are able to turn this controversy into more publicity but I don't think that's going to happen here, the guy has a lot of haters.

  2. KC fans are butt hurt because Keitzman told the truth about Fat Red. I'm not a Keitzman fan myslef however Reid's onfield results speak for themselves (No Superbowl wins and lots of player with serious issues, that's why he was fired in Philly). Reid's family life speaks for itself as well (several drug addicted loser kids). You get fired for speaking the truth in KC. Don't believe me? Just ask Frank White. KC will never see a SuperBowl with Fat Red. Philly knows this.

  4. 1:44 so true.

    Chiefs fans are "willfully blind"

  5. A public figure can make a gaff once in awhile and people generally don’t hold it against them
But when you say what he did? No. That’s a line you cross and don’t come back from

  6. In the sweaty-palmed, potbellied world of sports nerds, there are few unrecoverable errors. KK'S outsized ego may have managed it.

His part ownership is irrelevant. The truth of the remarks is beside the point. The only thing that matters is if 810 as a body is ok with KK singlehandedly flushing their brand down the toilet.

  7. FREEDOM OF SPEECH. KK TELLS THE TRUTH! HE TELLS THE TRUTH! HE TELLS THE TRUTH! WITH NO BS!!!

  8. I've never disliked Kietzman. I think he's fine and really have no issue with a radio person making controversial statements no matter how dumb. My only issue with him has been his handling of the Tyreek Hill. it's not just him though, it's the entire kc sports media that fucked this one up and they all exposed themselves as hacks and wannabes for getting the story completely wrong so they can grandstand for clickbait.

I don't care if he's on the air. Anyone who has a problem with a radio person being controversial is retarded anyway

  9. When you have an non apology that blames your listeners and refuses to admit wrongdoing then you shouldn't expect much forgiveness.

  10. There is no freedom of speech for corporations. His partners should demand that he's off the air.

That's a good point that nobody is speaking up for him. Why doesn't he have any friends in the local media?

    1. Because anyone, and I mean anyone, who is not on his payroll (and at least one I know who is) and knows him at all finds various synonyms of 'douchebag' to describe him.

  11. Don't know if people should bother listening on Friday, it looks like he's going with deny, deny, deny. That's great but I think he won't be very popular this season with fans.

  13. I know what Kietzman said. It was no worse than things many in the TKC community have said about Sly James and his dead homosexual son.

  15. Steve St. John offered a passionate defense of Kietzman. I wonder if he'll tell us how those boots tasted years from now?

  16. KK's show is the only sports talk show in town worth anything. Would be a sad day in KC if he was fired or quit.

  17. ^^^ not really I think would be fine without it. Nobody needs that kind of nasty talk when it comes to sports people would really just like to keep the comments about the game and bring the personal lives or family lives of the players and coaches into it. I think KK came off even worse during the so-called apology he really seemed out of it and like he didn't know what the controversy was about or why people were upset that's playing dumb and people like that even less.

  18. For someone who began his success criticizing Don Fortune on a daily basis, well I'll just say Don Fortune would have never said anything as bad as KK said about Andy.

  20. All of the KU fans are trying to drum this up to a bigger issue than it is because Kietzman is the only one to talk about the "warts" on the backside of KU sports. They all think this is their one good chance to get him off 810 for good. They're drooling over it so much that it is sickening to watch. If he goes away, they won't have to hear anyone at that station criticize KU with any real zeal, and, boy, does that make them so very happy.
