Quit or move to KC? If you ask USDA workers in Washington, the answer could overwhelmingly be quit

Politico is reporting 80% of the USDA workers ordered to relocate to the new headquarters in Kansas City will quit before they move to KC. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley has

  1. More jobs for local's. I'm sure they won't have an issue refilling those positions. I don't think it will be hard to find someone from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, Oklahoma and Nebraska to relocate to Kansas City.

10:14, there won't be any jobs, the move was blocked.

  3. Senate still will have a say and I think Hawley has a chance for a big win here. Agree with the first comment. Let them quit and give the jobs to more KC people!

  4. Private companies move locations and life goes on. The military moves its soldiers many times in a career. IBM was once referred to as I've Been Moved. What makes these employees so special. Once they look for other jobs that pay 6 figures and retirement at 55 they might change their minds.

  5. Well, now that you put it that way Josh, I'm sure they're all in. Is this what you call a 'hard sell' or what?

How about: I encourage these folks to check out the area, I think they'll be surprised how far their home buying dollars will go, the affordable cost of living, etc. etc.

No, let's not take that approach. "Quit yer bitchin, and pack up".

  6. Yeah, I doubt it will be blocked. For all the talk of the "blue wave" last november, republicans dominated the senate which is the more important house of congress

  7. They are part of the Deep State they have been screwing over Midwest farmers for years.

  8. I wouldn't want to move to Kansas City either. It's a shitty place to live. I know from experience and its made worse by outsiders moving in bring the BS they were trying to escape, not recognizing that the problem is them.

  10. Damn plenty of us will take their jobs.

  11. "... the move was blocked." Only the House voted to block the move. The House by itself does not have the authority to stop it.

  12. Those who wouldn't move here are idiots. Homes in DC would sell at higher prices than what they could buy a home in Mission Hills, Brookside or Leawood and the schools would be better for their kids. They are probably dicks anyway.

  13. Hawley is a dumb cunt.

  14. And they can have 1% of their earnings stolen for the KC Welfare Tax. I don't blame them.

  15. The message from Democrats was loud and clear. Power needs to be centralized and under control of the federal government in DC. 90% of DC voted for Hillary. No diversity of thought or representation among our federal agencies. Whatever political goals Democrats want to leverage through USDA might be lost if it were moved.

Heaven forbid federal government employees be subject to similar conditions as us every-day working Americans whose jobs *gasp* might be moved to another state or *double gasp* to another country. Imagine having to be among Trump voters! No way would they want to move.

No better illustration of the problem in DC was the number of cranes on the DC skyline during the 2008/2009 financial crisis. Nearly every other city in the US was in turmoil while the luxury building projects in DC BOOMED!

  16. 10-29 comment says it all.

The house vote won’t stop it but it does reveal pretty clearly just how useless cleaver is. Sharice too but less so given that she’s just a freshman.

  17. The bureaucrats in DC know so much more about agriculture than farmers in the Midwest.
