TRANSIT ACTIVIST WRITE-IN CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR CLAY CHASTAIN SHARES 'BATTLE HYMN' FOR KANSAS CITY!!!

There's a great deal on deck for tomorrow but right now we share a late night song of devotion to KCMO politics from this town's most prolific transit activist.

A controversial musical selection with a lot of history has been reworked by Clay Chastain to express his concerns about the fate of Kansas City through the majesty of song.

Take a look and listen:

  1. He certainly knows more about KC than either of our current mayoral candidates who are on the ballot.

    1. Hey I think he might actually get 500 votes this time around.

      Bwahahahahahahhahahaha!

  2. Hate to say it but I feel less guilty about voting for clay then I would casting a ballot for Jolie Justus or Quinton Lucas.

  3. I like Clay's style. Honestly look at the issues and voting records and try to figure out the difference between Jolie Justus or Quinton Lucas, they're opposite sides of the same coin. Clay is the only person who is saying something different.

  4. It's emblematic of Kansas City politics that the only person addressing the most pertinent and important issues lives in Virginia.

He's not a real candidate, and the agenda-driven, crony media treats him like dirt, but he does espouse a platform that establishment, party nominees would never dare embrace.

That being, he's basically saying KC politicians should focus on the things the city desperately needs, rather than the luxuries and kickback-laden scam projects that they selfishly want.

Chastain is a weird dude, and who the hell knows his motivations. But, at the very least, his platform includes quite a bit of honest reality.

That said, it's easy to (sometimes) speak to ugly truths when you have not a chance in hell of winning

  5. The sad fact is that even the very best comedy writers in Hollywood wouldn't be able to come up with a show as ridiculous and funny, but simultaneously very sad and tragic, as local politics in KCMO.
And this election and candidates top the bill.
In a city of over 460,000, this is the best that come forward to assume responsibilities of a $1.4 billion budget and the many many aspects of city government that people who actually live here depend on?
    Tragicomedy at its best.
And the whole metro just laughs and laughs.
    Sad.

  9. Clay hates Kansas City so much that he refuses to even live in KC during the campaign season. If he ever gets elected he would probably run KC from his Virginia office.
