Newspaper looks at history and facts of life we've already covered as this cowtown loses money under the current Administration. Checkit:
Under Trump, KC area sees winners and losers in transit grants
Under President Donald Trump federal transportation grants have favored road projects over public transit, and rural over urban areas, compared to the Obama administration. In the KC area, Turner Diagonal and KC Streetcar projects are examples.
SLie is pissed the KCK levees received $423 million for improvements yet KCMO's failed fair weather toy train received nothing. This continues the failed theme for SLie's reign.
ReplyDeleteSly burned bridges in both Jeff City and DC, so there won't be much enthusiasm for channeling bucks to KCMO.
ReplyDeleteAnd the city cupboard is pretty bare after all the handouts, TIFs, wasteful spending like the "arts" festival, and worthless projects like 18th and Vine and THE streetcar.
Maybe Lucas is going to have to drive himself around and buy his own gas.
Sad.
It doesn’t take much gas to get from city hall to the nearest gay bar. Quinton will be fine.
ReplyDelete^^I hope they bust your ass wide open.
ReplyDeleteYou are endangering his life. That is not acceptable.
Maybe they can convert the street car to run on coal? Trump will provide a blank check if that's the case.
ReplyDeleteI like your comment at 7:50! And as long as we're thinking big, let's make it a horse drawn rail line like the very first Streetcars. Let's take the nostalgia up to eleven.

Unknown why taxpayers who live in North Dakota, Arizona, Wisconsin etc. should be on the hook for a local Kansas City project, which is really little more than a tourist attraction.
ReplyDelete^^^Newsflash, your tax dollars go to lots of things that are in other states.
ReplyDeleteOh and one more thing, please do not call the kc street car "transit". It is not. It has cannibalized bus service. It does not interface with the metro. In fact they have moved lines off of main Street (e.g. main Street Max runs on grand now) and are abandoning soon the 10th and main center. Many routes cut or shortened or made less frequent since street car or stops spread out more. + A million bucks sucked out of ATA budget pledged for street car expansion. This thing is an embarrassment. 102 million for 2 miles of street rail ... Momentum! Smart City!
