Before the storm knocks the power out, let's consider a few more topics and the big picture after this week's election deluge that left all of Kansas City awash with fake excitement for the future.
Here's what this town is dealing with in the coming months whilst we cope with flash flood warnings tonight . . .
- New Mayor & Council with no cash and not enough political capital to raise taxes.
- A major investment in curbing the murder rate but limited buy-in from the community and criminals who are powered by deeper drug-trade pockets.
- The continued decline of KCMO infrastructure including but not limited to crumbling bridges, streets filled with potholes and a storm sewer crisis that requires BILLIONS to fund.
And so, the kind words and clean cut image of the new council will soon have to get their hands dirty with decisions that will likely wreck to many good vibes local voters like to cling to after election victory
And all this inspires tonight's stormy playlist . . .
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.
Flooded KC streets no matter who is in charge. Sorry.

ReplyDeleteIf you understand this, then you should understand that your problem requires a national solution. Well, that won't happen, so the violence will continue & it won't be the Police Chief's fault, the Mayor's fault, Ms. Baker's fault, etc.
It's not a local problem. All large cities have the same problem caused by the same thing. Thanks to the Southern Railroad & your central location, you are a special case, & your disproportionate murder rate proves it.
So, don't blame the poor blacks who are just trying to find a way to survive, they're just pawns. The cartels are your enemy.
Nobody cares what you think byron, please STFU.

ReplyDeleteObviously Byron cannot find another blog close to home, or anywhere else for that matter, who will allow him to espouse his nonsense, so he has to assuage his ego clear back in KC. Sad.
