TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY WEEKEND RAINS BRING MASSIVE FLOODING TO MIDDLE-CLASS BROOKSIDE STREETS!!!
Check this screen-cap series of a recent social media share that shows the streets of an really nice part of town sunken beneath a torrent of typical Summer rain.
The footage is taken from abound Brookside & Huntington. The rain totaled a car and washed away recycling and trash sending neighbors storming to social media groups in order to commiserate . . .
The clip reveals a middle-class neighborhood street in KCMO basically turning into a river after rain that should be expected and is totally typical for this time of year.
What the author doesn't share is that after the storm sewer overload there are usually a smattering of very angry rats brought to the surface a few days after.
And this quick exemplar of MASSIVE KCMO STORM SEWER FAIL is shared only to offer a real world look at KCMO middle-class neighborhood life amid the fight over rising property taxes and neighborhood allocations amongst political factions.
Developing . . .
the flooding actually got much worse than this last night. the sewers can't take much and need to be replaced.
ReplyDeleteSo this is what a 200% increase buys you in KC?
DeleteGreat example of a Democratic run city. You did it to yourself KC.
DeleteMy only contention is that this part of Brookside might be higher grade than just "middle-class" these are all homes that are worth at least a half a million dollars. When you get to the suburbs that's McMansion territory and those people get a lot of consideration from their elected leaders, police and fire. Here in KC, you're just expected to hand over all your money and stay quiet about mounting city hall bills.
ReplyDeleteFrank "Double Play" White and sLIE James thanks for all you do. A 200% increase and this is what it gives us.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when taxpayer sewer increase dollars go to fund infastructure costs for the City's new hotel and other "economic development" projects. Residents pay through their water sewer bills. There is a reason why the City officials will never submit to a State audit of the Water Department accounts.
ReplyDeleteI don’t feel sorry for people who continuously vote against their best interests because they can’t break away from their groupthink political ideology.
ReplyDeleteTo QL- first thing in office: fire Leed's and audit water dept. Fire and imprison as many as you can. Then go after previous employees.
ReplyDeleteThe billion dollar smart sewer system the minions of city hall were gloating over several months ago once again proves it is not a very smart system but a money hogging failed attempt at fixing failed infrastructure without putting a shovel into the ground..
ReplyDeleteI'd be more sympathetic, but I know what the word middle means.
ReplyDeleteShow us pictures of the flooding in one of the poor neighborhoods.
Those pics look like the ones in your Wess Virginny hillbilly welfare counties, where giant streams of blighty house trash, mountains of last fall's leaves--fallen limbs from years ago--dirty diapers--likker bottles and their cardboard boxes--emptied moonshine plastic gallon jugs--fried chicken bones in carry out cartons--burger wraps and bags--millions of tabacky pouches--femmie products--tater chips bags--and all other tossed trash and filth that is let loose to go plugging the sewer grates in the po parts of the hoods!!!

ReplyDelete8:44 hit the nail on the head. You did it to yourself KC!
It’s always a hoot to read what America’s least productive citizens-the diaper brigade-have to say. Don’t wast your time worrying about the sewers guys, you don’t have much time left!
ReplyDeleteIf Uncle Sly and City Hall could bottle and sell its hypocrisy, they could pay off the city's debt. In fact, its hypocrisy is only exceeded by its incompetence and criminality, which appear to be limitless.
ReplyDeleteThe level of mass delusion is shocking. Fact is, Kansas City is a decaying slum. Has been for decades, and cute trolleys and shiny new half-empty hotels aren't going to change that.
ReplyDeleteHow about you go fuck yourself Funkhouser
ReplyDeleteThree inches in 70 minutes isn't normal. Quit saying it is. It's not.
ReplyDeleteLet’s go down the progressive checklist of why this is happening:
ReplyDelete1. Trump
2. Russians
3. Global warming
4. “War on women”
5. Racism
Am I missing any other democrat blanket causes for anything and everything bad that happens in nature or life?
The water on My golden ghetto Street never reached above the curb, But my sump pump has been running once a minute for the last 13 hours!
ReplyDeleteOMG, in the lowly, butt-of-the-joke Dotte, we have street sweepers and vacuum trucks clear our curbs TWO to FOUR times a year, as needed! The stormwater and sewer mains are flushed out TWICE per year, and MORE often in specified flood plains, and in industrial districts nearer the rivers! Large limb pickups and electric lines clearances are checked after major storms! Fire hydrants are pressure tested, flushed, and parts replaced or new hydrants installed! Replacements of burned bulbs in street lights is getting MUCH BETTER, but that's been a big bother for some years and for certain areas. The current mayor has been better at "lighting up" focus for the improvements needed in urban WYCO, especially.
ReplyDeleteDon't fret Brooksiders, this will be fixed immediately!
ReplyDeleteBut only because Eric Bunch can't ride his little kiddie's toy bike down streets that have water on them.
Just wait till a big rain in the fall.
ReplyDeleteMajority of folks in Brookside simply blow all their yard leaves into the street.
Like it's all supposed to magically disappear.
Leaf clogged sewer drains all over Brookside, that time of year.

ReplyDeleteThe legacy of Sylvester James and Troy Schulte!!!
This much rain is not expected and not totally typical Tony. The metro area just broke an 18 year old record for rain totals so far. It should be drier and hotter right now.
