TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! INSIDER: KANSAS CITY TAX HIKES AMID PREZ TRUMP ECONOMY THREATEN TO RUIN WORKING-CLASS!!!

Rising taxes are the top concern among Kansas City residents right now and tonight A KANSAS CITY INSIDER offers important big picture perceptive.

Here's the word:

"Watching the Jackson County Legislature sit on their hands during this property tax dispute is painful. They're talking a good game but they have the tools to change the policy before it's too late and so far I've sad to say they're done NOTHING.

I remember reading a recent study that quite a few Americans can't afford a $400 emergency expense. This property tax deal is going to be a lot more than that for most residents. It should have been done incrementally and the current tactics could put a lot of people out of their homes.

Add all of this to rising water rates, higher fees from City Hall and a host of other proposed taxes on the way and you've got nearly impossible conditions in KCMO not just for the working poor but people who have decent jobs and consider themselves working or middle-class.

This economy might benefit the elite who have major stock holdings & the 1% but here in Kansas City, elected officials need to realize that most people are getting squeezed by the current Administration and the higher taxes are making it nearly impossible for a lot of our residents to stay in this community."

And so we ask our blog community tonight . . .

ARE RAPIDLY RISING LOCAL TAXES THREATENING TO RUIN ALLEGED BENEFITS OF THE PREZ TRUMP ECONOMY?!?!?

  1. it's an attack on low income housing plain and simple. Both the county and the city need more cash. If they can't raise taxes outright they'll do it with this backdoor method and any other. What's funny is that so many of the "affordable housing" advocates are silent now because they were jut pawns in the election. Nothing but a distraction to get more handouts for their group from City Hall. Overall that increases taxes also. It's lose/lose for those who live inside Jackson County limits.

  2. I don't understand what the problem is. Everything is awesome!

The developers of the Uptown Lofts project are moving ahead with a planned hotel at the corner of Valentine and Broadway at a faster pace than originally envisioned, winning approval for incentives from a city development agency last week.

Construction on the 95- to 120-room hotel could begin by the end of the year following approval of 25-year property tax abatement and sales tax exemption on construction materials by the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority.

  4. Don’t forget about the rapidly rising water bill. Dummocraps are trying to kill us middle class and for what reason? Why do they hate us?

  5. ^^ nd the above post @7:04 is why the "Koolaid Drinkers" will go down screaming and wailing with their False Prophet and Stable Genius.

  6. What is hurting the people of Kansas city isn't Trump, it's the clown show at 12th and Oak area. Two local governments located in that area of which both are moving full steam ahead in a full out movement to bankrupt not only the city but Jackson county as well.

Neither entity can keep spending money in the fashion they are without creating disastrous results in the end.

  7. ^^^ But adding a trillion here and a Trillion there to the National Debt is a good thing, right, Dave?

    ReplyDelete
  8. ^^^Not sure. Ask Obama, who did it in a much less robust economy.

  9. Obama almost killed the middle class for what? Good thing Trump came along and saved the day but I digress, this is about killa shitty and Jackson county who’s trying to wipe us off the face of the earth now.

  11. 6:26 and Super Dave are correct.

Main Street and Wall Street have 401K investments in common, but little else. Those multinational corporations hate everyday Americans, which is why they support the 1% Globalists who brought you NAFTA and brought China (With 800 billion dollars a year in trade deficits that helped Wall Street drive the market so high.) into the WTO.

Again, the most important aspect of the economy, that, imo, small time nobodies like us rubes here in KC should remember, is that the Chamber Of Commerce, Wall Street, Never Trumpers, Democrats and the zillions of MULTI-NATIONAL corporations that you think are American Companies, ARE NOT AMERICAN COMPANIES. They want cheap labor, hate the middle class and like the low life, Koch Brothers, want to continue to bleed you dry in search of short term profit.

    I can't recommend www.zerohedge.com enough.

The articles are pro and con Trump, but you get a feel for what is going on.

  12. Not sure Obama "killed" the middle class, but I'd agree he was very kind to the banks that got us into the great recession. I can't see that Trump's been such a great friend of the middle class, either.

  15. Trump has raised taxes more than Jackson County.

Trump's GOP tax scheme has raised taxes on many middle and working class families. Ask any truck driver that lost their per diam deduction. State and local taxes aren't deductible anymore, so any local property tax increases are no longer offset by the feds. Thanks Trump for the extra pain.

Then his tariffs on aluminum and steel raised car prices. Tariffs on Chinese imports were an across the board tax increase on everything else. Farmers are going bankrupt. Trump is reduced to begging the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates, which is the response to address a shitty economy, not a great one. It sounds like the "booming" Trump economy is fake news.

Alleged benefits is correct. While the party line is that the economy is strong, & even booming, actual economists say a recession is coming.

The tax of the tariffs on China, & the foolishness of Trump believing he understands the engines of the economy even better than the economists, & demanding personal control of Fed Polices, plus the instability of the oil markets because of his brinkmanship with Iran, plus the actual uncertainty of America's role in the world caused by his breaking of so many trade agreements, & societal norms - insulting allies & embracing enemies, the future is uncertain, but I fear it will make 2008 look like a bump in the road.

I don't want to think about the possibility of actual war with Iran who is in an entirely different league than Iraq & Afghanistan. War with only Israel & Saudi Arabia as dubious allies, & not our traditional, larger & stronger friends, who Trump has foolishly thrown away because his understanding of trade imbalances is incomplete. Disaster.

I'd start preparing yesterday. Property taxes should be immediately rolled back to even lower than they were before the increase. Any thought of street car expansion should be put away with all of the other toys. Immediately, stop spending money on anything even remotely unnecessary. If possible roll back all of your many nickel & dime special taxes for this & that.

Not only is everything not hunky dory, it is five minutes until midnight, & that is without a shooting war with someone who can really shoot back.

  17. ^^^ Yeah, it was sure better under Obama. Race riots, Deep State Fascists, 1% growth, we were supposed to need a "Magic Wand" to bring back manufacturing, the "Apology Tour", the list goes on.

If Warren Harding and U.S. Grant had a baby with Louis Farrakhan it would have been a pre-op Tranny that looked just like Barry Obama.

  18. Bottom line. Unemployment is down and profits are up. Trump is totally better for the economy and a much better executive than any of the Democratic welfare pimps.

    ReplyDelete
  19. ^^^^ You watch too much TV and I'm certain you don't have stock to benefit from the Trump economy.

  20. Obviously Byron cannot find another blog close to home, or anywhere else for that matter, who will allow him to espouse his nonsense, so he has to assuage his ego clear back in KC. Sad.

  21. 9:59 I do and have thank you very much.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We need to hire Muller to investigate how Trump is single handily wrecking KCMO.

  23. Trump really hasn't done anything to benefit the economy. Stats show things were trending towards where we're at today and he was asked about this during his interview with Chuck Todd. Newsflash: he stumbled to answer the question and babbled on, he had no answer. Basically par for the course with this guy.

I mean, you can point to the tax cut all you want but that extra couple hundred bucks annually the middle class guy is taking home and doing shit and the deficit continues to explode as the upper echelons of income and corporations reap the benefits. This tax cut, as expected, is not paying for itself at all.

The next administration will inherit a huge debt load and in order to deal with it will have to make some tough choices.

The Republican MO, the richest get the cookies and rest of us get the crumbs. Yet, you guys all continue to say Thank you very much.

  24. Trumps economy is good. Can't compare Kansas City economy to Trump. You can blame Kansas City economy on Stealing democrats and the morons who keep voting them in. If you're going to vote democrat at least vote for a good one which is as rare as a unicorn. Good Luck with the tax break because the appraisers work for the bank and the bank works for big business!

  25. 7:48: If anything my taxes increased under the tax "cuts." Trump has a habit of saying something that is demonstrably not true, and yet people believe him. It's like "1984." Next we'll hear "war is peace."

    ReplyDelete
  26. Or maybe we'll hear "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor." Or possibly "The violence in Benghazi was sparked by a video."

  27. My tax cut was HUUUUUUUUUUGE!!! And I personally know Trump's inauguration was HUUUUUUUUGER than any other inauguration in the 1,000 year history (starting with Leif Erickson, our president's direct ancestor) of this country! Go Trump!!!

  28. My Trump tax cut was great, I have to say. I'm very much middle class, but hey, the cut was excellent! I wasn't a Trump fan, nor did I vote for him last time, but I will in 2020. The economy speaks for itself.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ^^Yes it does, and it's saying recession.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 9:50 - it wasn't like they were telling you they were going to give you more money and didn't. Slightly different. I have/had insurance too, so, I did get to keep my doctor.

And seriously, do you really want to get into a scorecard of demonstrable flat out lies between Obama's and Trump's administration? Trump would be up like 6,000 to 2, and we're not even done with this term.
